I have an idea
This may be a really stupid idea but I was just thinking about ways to raise money for UC and I thought that maybe as a board we could do our part by having a website that tracks how much money we've raised as a board and once we hit a certain goal we can transfer that money over to UC. Some people just can't donate the money that UC is looking for but if we all pitch in a certain amount when we can and it all adds up I think it would be good. We could put a sticky at the top of the page with a link to donate and we could have it to where you could see exactly how much we've raised. What does everyone think?

RE: I have an idea
I'm not sure how the IRS would view tax deduction if the donation isn't made directly to the university.

Just the fines levied for stupidity could fund the 5/3 reconfig..

RE: I have an idea
I was thinking of an idea myself. What if they had a lottery for donors?

Such as you earn one chance for every $100 you donate. Once the luxury boxes are completed, one gets held aside for the first season. Each game, a different donor gets pulled out of the proverbial "hat". That person "owns" that luxury box for that game, can invited their friends along, have their name announced as the "donor of the game", the whole works. President Ono and Whit Babcock come by to shake hands and talk, etc.

Most of us will never have anything names after us, but it would be fun to have a chance to be a "big donor" for a day.

Really cool idea and I think it should be expanded beyond the first season to do it every year if demand was high the first go around.

Depends on how much it would cost to not sell that one luxury box.

Yep. If they could sell the box they should sell the box.
I do like the raffle idea as an incentive to donate. Might be possible to do a lottery where the winner gets to sit in the UC Athletics box with the AD and rub elbows with him and the other muckity mucks.
