The two biggest idiots on the board spouting their usual nonsense. Let me spell it out for the two you like I would for a small child: we finally have an AD that understands how to build a winning football program. That's all he was trying to say. GEE-ZUS!!!

Two winning seasons from 2004 to 2012 and those being 6 years a part is NOT building a winning program. You look at raw numbers without looking into the details and make wild assumptions. The Tiger program has had more winning seasons and bowl games in that same time period.

You are correct, congrats. However, you don't know jack about SJSU and how hard it is to do anything at that frickn' school. I do, you don't. Amazing what the football program did at SJSU under a coach hired by Bowen..

Oh, and I see BJW reported somebody. Had a chance to go to another site today. They love him over there.............%snicker!

Do you actually believe it is harder to build football at SJSU than at Memphis. Who does SJSU compete against for players and fans? UCLA, USC and Stanford. Three quality schools but just three and in an area of a much larger population. Compared to a much smaller population in the mid south and having to compete against at least 8 SEC schools for fans and talent. You forget our former coach had to fire a secretary just so he could hire a recruiting coordinator. All the basketball staff and players had school issued laptops while the football team didn't have enough for the entire staff to have one. We practiced at area high schools in bad weather. As hard as things may have been at SJSU they had no where near the hurdles the football staff has had here for the past 40 years.

You and I are more on the same page than you know..........and many others that you argue with.

And yes, I do believe it is much harder to build a program at SJSU than Memphis. Sorry, don't have time to write 3000 words telling you why, just something I know and very familiar with. All I will say is that Cali has to support the entire west coast , west of the Rockies with athletes. Not just 3 schools. Look at the roster of Pac whatever schools. Plus you are forgetting some other D-1 schools Cali, plus some very good 1-AA type. I grew up in Cali, I know what the stereotype of SJSU is, has not been that of much more than a JC. I know people that would rather have played at a JC than go to SJSU. Anyway......

I trust Bowen to do the right thing, I have no doubts about his capability.

Let's hope he can replicate that success here.

He will if we do OUR part.

If you think SJSU only competes with three schools for talent to build their program.... you really need to learn more about recruiting. Name a major program that doesn't have a recruit out of California and I will show you a dozen that do!! That is as stupid as saying UCF only competes with Florida, Miami and Florida State.

Make a comment like that and the rest of your logical points lose their weight.

If Bowen can continue to push for money to be spent on FB in ALL areas, FB will be much more successful. It's like anything else, you get what you pay for. We have a good coach with a good staff, now support them. Keeping this staff together for a bit would be a good start.

We should be attractive to the ACC considering that we would give them a new state, a great recruiting area and huge corporate backing.

Can't buy that. No one ever hears of Boise State or TCU if they played at .500

Gotta be relevant and compete for the championship every so often.

Was comparing BCS competition. I could have easily added MTSU, ASU, and several other non BCS school that we also have to compete against. We have more BCS level competition for far LESS talent. The numbers are such that there are many blue chip players that are second and third all regional or state team only because of the numbers game. You are talking about a state which has 6 times as many people as Tennessee. A much higher pool of players from which to draw.
