UC has nothing to be ashamed of
They gave Connecticut everything they wanted, and Connecticut was in desperation mode not wanting to fall to 0-2 in the Big East. UC is going to be dangerous, especially in the NCAAs. UConn is good, neither team is playing their best right now they're getting better. We just need to stay healthy. Getting 6-10 Abdul Herrera eligible would make us a force. Just having his big body alone does that, but he actually has some talent. I still had fun, being on Big Monday and all! :)

It was a good game. UC was outmanned but again played hard. Losing Kirkland hurt big time.

I also would have liked to have seen what might have happened if White did not get his 4th foul (on a bad call, even the announcers agreed) with 8 minutes remaining, then when the UCONN player lost the ball out of bounds with UC down by only 6, but the referee awarded the ball to UCONN (again - seconded by the ESPN announcers), and they hit a 3. Those 2 incidents were big in this game.

Not sour grapes, and not saying it would have led to a UC win, but both those plays would have made some difference.

Good game Cincy, I expected a tough battle tonight and it was. UConn is still trying to find its identity with MW back in the lineup but were very focused tonight & the crowd was really into it (for the HCC anyway). 8-)

One thing not mentioned was the Calhoun technical. For a little bit, that changed the momentum and was cause for concern. Forntunately, everything worked out...for UConn. ;-)

Up next, Syracuse. Big game for UC. I'll tell you what though, a lot of the big dogs in the country just got a wake up call. You don't want to be a #1 or #2 seed and see UC show up in your bracket!

He deserved the technical. And it hurt UCONN.

But UCONN was just too tall inside for UC.

True. UConn outrebounded Cinci 45-28. Calhoun's 'T' was pointless. So Rudy gay got bumped underneath. Big whoop. First, he should have made the damn shot. Second, the game was very much going UConn's way at that point. There was no reason for it.

How would you guys be getting Herrera back? I thought he was academically ineligible or something this season?

Losing Kirkland change the complextion of the game. But UC still hung in anyway. I hope Kirkland injury isn't serious. Good game UC!

UConn played well too!

They say its an ACL, which does not sound good. This team and this city much less cannot catch a break, first its Palmer and now its Kirkland. Kirk would through a stretch last year when he was absolutely unconcious and was the best player on our team that featured White, Hicks and a future NBA first rounder. The last two games he looked to be going back into that zone. Then he gets hurt.

Meh, the life of a Cincinnati sports fan.

He is, but UC is exploring and actively going through other channels to get him eligible. The only reason is ineligible is because he passed English I, II, III but the NCAA refuses to acknowledge English I and won't give UC a clear reason why.

Exactly. At the beginning of last year he was scoring 20 ppg and basically was doing last year what James White is doing this year. Losing Kirkland hurt, if he doesn't go down the UC/UConn game is much closer. Kirkland is capable of taking over a game and White was also have a great game.

I think losing Kirkland and getting outrebounded pretty much hurt the cats. Kirkland was the hot hand and UCONN just had too many second chance opportunities. I still thought the bearcats gave them all they wanted and then some. UCONN certainly needed that game plus it was a home game for them.
