Oh....so your QB is going to be a Heisman contender as well? Teddy B may very well be the best QB in the nation next year.
The Heisman has nothing to do with who is the best.
Let me throw in an objective opinion. Bridgewater is the real deal! I've watched UCF and your QB is not the talent that TB is. TB's got one of the most accurate arms I've seen, great pocket presence and a lot of zip. Oh, and some wheels to boot. TB won the BE for 'Ville almost entirely by himself. And, next year those young players are all coming back for 'Ville and TB will be even that much better with a much better supporting cast. 'Ville will be very dangerous next year. Unfortunately RU will be rebuilding on D next year, although we have more depth than we've ever had so we'll see what happens. We do return almost everyone on O, but we'll need a lot of improvement on O in order to contend since it was a relatively anemic O this year.
Have to agree.
Several things I have an issue with.
First off, TB didn't win the BE for 'ville, in fact 'ville didn't just win the BE for 'ville. Louisville shares the title with half the conference. Call it what you want, but that is precisely not the definition of champion. Sure, they're going to the Sugar Bowl, but they share 25% of the Big East championship.
Second, what do you mean by pocket presence and "wheels to boot"? TB was sacked 3 more times than UCF (with UCF having already played 14 games to Louisvilles 12, meaning UCF has allowed 23 sacks at
1.64 sacks / game, and Louisville allowed 26 sacks at
2.166 sacks / game. If you allow the average in an additional 2 games, that's more than 30 sacks in a season). In addition, Bortles has
285 rushing yards this season to TB's meager 43.
TB has a higher completion percentage and passing yard number, I will grant him that. But he has the same number of passing TD's and interceptions as Blake (in less games, which is good for TD's and bad for INTs). But then again, Bortles also has 7 rushing TD's to TB's 1.
Given the progression Bortles has made from Freshman to Sophomore, that is my reasoning and confidence in saying that:
Bortles will be the best QB in the conference next year. And he'll prove it in Louisville.
