To bad you never capitalized on that success you once had. If you had built an actual fanbase representative of your consistent success you wouldn't now have to be trying to dig out of an 0-12 gutter with the worst resources in CUSA, and you'd have probably have punched your ticket a year ago. I hope the Big East or whatever the name of it is doesn't touch you at this point. You've already shown your ceiling is pretty low of what you can grow into even when you were winning every year. Really no excuse to not be able to draw 30k either as much success you you guys had, in a football state, with relative football weaklings like Miss and Miss State to boot.

what a little prick... I think the novelty of a couple conference titles and a new stadium is beginning to ware off for ecu. Butts in seats was not all that great for ecu the past two seasons.

Talk about wasted resources. A school with a fan base like ECU's and money they bring in winning as little as they do. You basically had to bend over and take it without lube for the Big East to take you and when they do the last respectable team in the league ups and bolts when the first offer came in. Congrats at least Tulane fans know they got lucky, you guys actually think you did something. Its so funny it almost makes me want to laugh.

All of your spin and double talk can't change 27 wins, 12 losses. Go ahead and try. ECU hasn't beat a FBS team in two years with a winning record. Hell, I would rather hire a disaster as a coach and go 0-12 than have that fact. We fired our coach and will be back, meanwhile you have a sorry ass coach that can't beat a winning team. That cracks my ass up. Your mighty Pirates haven't ended the season ranked since 1995. That is just sorry for a team that their fans think they are world beaters. Going to be fun watching Fedora beat the hell out of Ruffy boy.

How does SJ automatically turn every thread into an anti-ECU thread? And how do we let ourselves allow him to do so?

well, I won't judge ECU by one fan because in the years that I have been aware of ECU/USM encounters I have found many great ECU fans and even had some thank USM for standing up for ECU when Louisville tried to keep the Pirates out of C-USA, but USM led the charge to include ECU. I am still proud that my alma mater took that stand and proud of ECU for it's relationship with USM. I would think we will see more of ECU on our schedule in the future and I am sure the fans will show the ECU class I have seen so often instead of this one who calls himself an ECU fan.

I think StillJonesing has the most appropriate response on this board.

A sh!tty thread requires a sh!tty response.

I find it amazing that some people would be offended by an equally offensive retort

You CAN'T expect USM to average 50k a game in rural MS. ECU would have under 30k as well if you were located in MS

You're the one that decided to start a thread bashing the Big East and all the teams going where you want to be just to "snicker". What did you expect. This coming off a 0-12 season. There is certainly no assurances you'll ever get some overachieving alum in todays money driven world of college football to stay at your school and coach for 15 years for peanuts and do what he did. You pissed away everything that made you what you were when you fired him and never build a foundation on your success to sustain in the future. Just look at your cellar level resources and support levels. The cellar is right where you should have always been, enjoy being home for the holidays.

Cities near Greenville that are over 50k population:

Fayetteville, NC
Wilmington, NC
Jacksonville, NC
Wilson, NC
Rocky Mount, NC

Other than Hattiesburg, what is a city above 50k in South MS? Gulfport is the only other city above 50k

RE: 105 wins-50 losses
Miss State and Ole Miss get 55-60k in towns of 18 to 21k. Hattiesburg is twice as big at 45k.

Make excuses all you want, it's not like we got a lot of advantages. Most people here grow up bouncing a ball not really caring about college football. At least you already have college football culture bred in to people there, you just never made them care about you for whatever reason. That's your problem, not the size of your town. See Starkville and Oxford above.

MSU and Ole Miss get 60k a game because they are in the SEC.

That's pretty dang on true. They also have pretty big fanbases outside of their areas.
