Best of luck, C7
I must say, out of all the recent realignment moves, yours BY FAR made the most sense. I think you all will be in tremendous shape in the long run by focusing on basketball in a like-minded fashion.
We'll miss the games, particularly Marquette, DePaul (who we've been regularly playing for about 20 years), as well as St. John's and Georgetown.
We drew the mirror card quite a bit on SJU/GU, and, despite my initial objections that our mirror was never Louisville, those two had worked out to be very entertaining series.
Mick Cronin is a resourceful recruiter, and we will be fine nonetheless, but I would have been happy had we been able to maintain the NYC/MSG connection.
This is about the only realignment story where a conference comes out with its "soul" (for lack of a better word) intact. Best wishes.

That was an awesome post and I couldn't agree more with the regret about the potential of the BBall we could have seen. If Ajerseyguy's theory plays out both leagues and most teams will turn out fine, which wasn't likely to be the case after UofL left. I wonder if a bball challenge b/t leagues is in the cards for future...guess it depends on how he split goes.
College football is to a conference, more than any other sport, like oil to this nation, a blessing and a curse at the same time.
