How Would the New Conf Rank?
For arguments sake lets say that Pete Thamel of SI.com is correct and the league is:

GTown
St. John's
Nova
Marquette
DePaul
Providence
Seton Hall
Butler
Xavier
St. Louis
Dayton
Creighton

How would you rank these teams right now in the season?

I think once we know when we are leaving. I think talks are taking place, just looking to see when. Could be as soon as next season.

I remember reading somewhere that the C7 are going to meet again in early January. Hopefully an announcement will come soon after, maybe after football season is over?

Well thats the same thing, the NCG is Jan 7th.

Personally I think we stay one more year. We are a few months away from our fall sports starting practice. We have a lot of stuff to take care of like hiring a conference staff, getting a tv deal, getting our new teams in place. I mean we don't want to screw over the conferences our new teams are coming from. Give everyone some time to get their ducks in a row. Also give us some time to get the money we deserve from the league. No point in rushing out and giving the FB schools money they dont deserve. We play ball, let them keep the name for one more year, get their BCS money and then we can go our separate ways. Also one more year playing UofL, UConn and Cincy and we get to play Temple and Memphis for a season.

For what it's worth, I went through the last 10 years of Sweet Sixteens, Final Fours, National Championships. Here are the results, using the new lineups (and assuming that the C-7 takes Butler, Xavier and VCU)

SEC 3
NBE 2
Big 12 1

Final Fours
ACC 9
C-7+ 6
Big 10 6
Big 12 6
SEC 5
NBE 4
PAC 3
Other 1 (George MAson)

Sweet Sixteens
ACC 33
Big 12 23
Big 10 22
C7+ 19
SEC 18
PAC 15
NBE 9
Others 11
