While I'll be rooting for the MAC when we play in our bowls, I cheer for the Belt when we don't play. I think both conferences are similar, just that you guys are located in a different belt than the rust.

I just don't see why Sun Belt teams are joining CUSA.
SBC Football is clearly better than CUSA Football now.
At least we still have the top of the pact still intact.

Most of the dollars are not tv dollars. The CUSA brand perception is based primarily on what the schools that are gone built up...and will fade as the public becomes really aware that the new lineup does not include them. Bowls will adjust to the new realities as contracts get re-negotiated.

No matter where we go, there we are. All of us, whichever remnant league we are left in, will have to rebuild and will have to rebuild the old fashioned way. Winning football games and getting butts in the seats. The easy rain of money and prestige from the sky is not coming for any of us.

So far the best strategy of this whole fiasco is the MAC. They have been putting in the hard work and have so far decided to protect what they have built together in a nice tight geographic conference. They haven't dilute themselves and have improved their position by doing nothing. They will not have a rebuilding job we will all have if they hang with that strategy.

I just saw a tweet where the SBC is 12-5 vs CUSA over the last two season. Based on the conference shuffling that is happening, I expect this trend to continue.

If you add in the records of the (SBC) teams leaving, it would be much more than that.

By the way, for you FAU fans Louisiana is 6-6 in 2008, 6-6 in 2009, 3-9 in 2010, 9-4 in 2011 and 9-4 in 2012. Back to back NOLA Bowl champs and you think FAU is a great program? Come on man!

Thanks for the complement, I like to think the MAC is doing what it needs to right now. Our key is that we need to keep our momentum this year in the seasons to come. We'll probably snag an extra bowl bid or two as it is now, and hopefully beef up our reputation around college football as a better non-AQ conference. When the time is right, we'll invite another school. Frankly, unless you count the impossible dream scenario of us grabbing UConn, UC, or Temple, I think we should add UMass in full, and invite stAte and WKU, with James Madison, Delaware, or App. State filling the 16th spot. We need a strong regional TV presence, and bringing along two solid schools from the Belt would be a plus. I don't know how you all would feel about this, but I think they'd be a fit, based on their athletics and university profiles, I'm just giving my two cents.

I feel for you Belt fans, you guys have been raided and have been forced to reload after the C-USA was cannibalized. From what I gather, your best football programs are intact in the Belt for the moment, so hopefully you guys will grow prosper. I honestly wish that none of the conferences were expanding at this scale and we weren't forced to tear each other apart, though at the end of the day, we all want what's best for our respective school and conference.

I have said multiple times that FAU isn't a great program. None of the Sun Belt programs are great programs. Some of you guys on here need a reality check. Major college football programs think all of our schools are joke programs. Just stating facts.

Yes ULL has done better lately than FAU. You guys have 2 bowl wins in back to back to years. However those are your only bowl wins all time.. You go back 4 and 5 years and FAU would be the team with back to back bowl wins while ULL would have none.

But people on this board seem to concentrate solely on the past 2-3 years in football alone to determine an entire schools worth. It is hilarious to say the least. And like I said, FAU has not been a bottom feeder in sports like baseball and basketball. To be a bottom feeder overall, you have to suck in everything as a whole. While FAU has been down in football the past 3-4 years, it isn't as if every program has been down.

Sorry but I am not going to just sit here and let the idiots on here put down my school especially when the junk they are spewing is false.

For a short period FAU had some decent teams and still were lucky to get 10,000 fans in the stands. So bottom feeder still fits.

The only point I was ever trying to make was that how long a program, especially in the Sun Belt, has no barring on anything.
