Houston is probably gone to. There no way around it. If this goes down, it's likely bad for the rest of you.

They nBE will be CUSA with no MWC teams. It's bad news for everyone that a true western divison was never worked out.

Yeah, that's probably a better way to put it.

Better football teams are in bold. Cincy and Fresno are a tossup as are Nevada and Houston and UNLV and Memphis. MWC > BECUSA in football .. especially if Houston comes West.

A few of us have been lobbying for that since this experiment began. Yet we ended up with Memphis, Temple, ECU, and Tulane.

That's not the way to look at it here is more like it
MWC
Hawaii,New Mexico,Colorado State,Air Force,Wyoming,Utah State,San Jose State,Nevada
Or
Big East
UConn,Temple,ECU,UCF,USF,Cincinnati,Memphis,Tulane,SMU,Houston

Which of those two leagues with Boise,SDSU,Fresno,UNLV, makes a more Financially and exposure attractive 14 all sport team league for those four schools

Without a doubt, the Big East gives those 4 much more exposure and more recruiting areas.

If it's all sports with a true western division, yes. But if it's still football only and no more western teams are added, it's a toss up.

I'm still hoping that the BE can put this together. But at this stage I'm beginning to wonder.

Correct and I would follow by allowing BYU to keep its ESPN deal for home games and have their conference away games become part of the league content. They will not get money from it. I would then invite Gonzaga as an Olympic partner for Navy football.
Sixteen team league all sports
EAST
UConn,Temple,ECU,UCF,USF,Cincinnati,Memphis,Tulane
WEST
Houston,SMU,SDSU,Boise,BYU,Fresno,UNLV,Navy/Gonzaga

As long as it's an all sports league, I prefer the BE.

We beat you 28-14, the following year in Fresno.

Both years, we finished 8-5. In 2009, you were 12-1 and played in the Sugar Bowl and in 2010 you went 4-8.

Those were average years for us; we're doing better now. Still, we damn near knocked off you Sugar Bowl team in your house. So I'm not seeing anything that suggests that laughing is an appropriate response.

RE: BE 2014 v MWC 2014
doesn't matter. Boise is going to get some sort of BYU like deal with ESPN to destabilize both leagues, and for 4mil pieces of silver, everybody is going to be f'd. Neither league will be even close to as good as a 14-16 team best of the rest national conference would have been.

The problem is thats a pipe dream after the ECU and Tulane adds....there is 1 team too many in the East for a true East/West split.

When was the last time Fresno State won 10 games? Cincinnati has done it 4 times in 5 years (a bowl win away from 5 times in 6 years).

Scoreboard, buddy.

And as for the claim that we almost knocked off your Sugar Bowl team

Time of possession: 43 minutes to 16 minutes
First downs: 25 to 15
Total yards: 443 to 357

Quoting AP: "Pike threw three touchdown passes in a quick-strike offense that was hardly on the field, and the 14th-ranked Bearcats held on for a 28-20 victory over a Fresno State team that ran all over them on Saturday. One gamble made the Bulldogs (1-3) come up empty."

I get why Boise might not come. If the Big East sees more defections, the MWC starts to look more appealing. Like I said before if we could get a 5 year commitment from everybody, it might stabilize everything.

I wasn't aware that ONE game in a programs recent history could make programs comparable. Appalachian State beat Michigan but I doubt you'd see many arguing the programs are a toss up.
