RE: Brendon Kay to start Belk Bowl for Bearcats, but 2013 unknown
Looking forward to the team going back to some of the vertical passing concepts that made them so great 2007-2009. I was watching some highlights on Youtube and got excited. God, were Mardy, Goody, Bones and co. something special..

Just curious, has it been revealed that Gran intends to bring a similar offense as Brian Kelly's to Cincinnati?

All that has been said is tat CTT and BK have the same approach, and share the same philosophies.

I miss BK's offense. And I thought for sure Tony Pike would have a decent NFL career. I know he's battled some injuries but he was in a crappy situation in Carolina.

We were 5-0 with Munchie going into the Toledo game. The offense had scored 34, 23, 27, 52 and 49 points. Only an idiot would've benched him going into that game. It becomes debateable after the Toledo loss. But this conjecture that he went with munchie and was favoring his recruit over another is baseless. These coaches want to win and make a bcs game more than you or I even do. They'll play a guy who beat up their mother if it meant having the best chance to win. Was Kelly an idiot for ignoring Pike until forced to play him? Idiots don't win 10 games in back to back seasons. I ain't happy he left for UT but I get it and I won't rip the staff for what they accomplished here. To call them idiots or rip them after the season we just had is bush league stuff.

Based on what though? TT emphasized defense and control on offense and BK was quite the opposite.

Are we really going to rehash this?
Looking at only the points produced is ridiculous. Two of those games were against FCS teams and one was against Miami. Go back and count all the poorly thrown balls and the amount of drives Munchie killed because he couldn't complete a simple pass to an open target. Hell, go back through the game threads and reread all the complaints about Munchie.

I thought I read somewhere (maybe on this site) that Gran was gonna spend some time with Noel Mazzone (was OC for TT at Auburn). So I would look to UCLA's offense to get a sense of what we may see next year.

Don't know?...It's just what a coach told me
Gotcha. I wonder why he thinks that. Would be interesting how it meshes with TT's defense.

Cool didn't know Mazzone was an OC with Tuberville in his first years at Auburn.
Looks like at Auburn a decade ago Mazzone ran out of the 1-back, 2-TE Ace package and quite a bit out of the shotgun. At UCLA it looks like he's running it mostly out of the shotgun with some zone-read schemes similar to what Cincinnati has done the past few seasons.

Thanks a lot for the memories! What a great game that was, I still remember going INSANE when the clock hit 0:00.
And are we ever going to wear red on black again? That's by far our best uniform combo... red on red looks ridiculous (in fact, get rid of the red pants all together).
