FIU womens hoops upsets MTSU
Way to go for our Lady Panthers! They beat MTSU 58-51 to snap a 17 game SBC win streak and a 14-game home win streak as well.

Reignind conference player of the week and preseason SBC player of the year, Jerica Coley scored 23 for FIU to lead all scorers.

MT dominated play early, but could never get a lead bigger than 3 pts. After that, FIU took the game over. They were much more physical and out hustled our ladies. Stats show Middle shot 32%. I am surprised it was that high. Worst game I have seen the Lady raiders play in several years. Congrats to FIU on a big win.

Just curious, if MT dominated play early but never lead by more than 3, what criteria for "domination" are you using?

Congrats to FIU. The home winning streak had to end some time. Look forward to continuing this series in C-USA

It appeared that way. If you didn't look at the scoreboard, you would have thought we had opened up an early double digit lead. We were very aggressive on defense with many steals and tons of pressure. Not sure why, but we never pulled away on the scoreboard. it felt like this the first 5 minutes of the game, then FIU took control of the game. never opened a big lead, but we just couldn't catch back up. i know it sounds weird, but that is how it felt to me. This was my first Lady raider game this year and I left extremely disappointed.

I felt like we were beaten early in the second half. Just didn't feel like we'd pull through. Coley is one heck of a nice player.

Must be why we outnumber your fans in Boca during women's hoops games 05-stirthepot

FAU fans watch football ? Heard you almost got outnumbered by WKU fans this year in Boca

Considering I live in Ohio, the fan smack doesn't really bother me. Sorry but I am not flying down to Florida to see Sun Belt basketball. I will go to a football game here or there but unfortunately stuff like work kind of limits me traveling 1200 miles regularly.

I assume you meant watch basketball too since WKU and FAU played at WKU this year in football (which FAU won)

For those like the FAU fan that don't want to read about women's hoops, please don't post in the threads.

I stay out of the Cajun softball threads in the Spring, because like FAU women's hoops, we at MT suck arse in that sport.
