In fact, I thought it was pretty reasonable. Color me stunned that it wasn't a sellout, especially with how well we are doing.
I remember going to US Bank (then Riverfront Coliseum) for games back in the early 80's. I never really minded it, because I did think the sight lines were pretty good. I can't speak to what it's become now, though, but it sounds like time has not been too kind to it. Honestly though, the nosebleed seats there aren't any worse than at the Shoe.
"Jax", good to see you back! Don't be a stranger.
For those who don't know, SpokaneBearcat used to be known as JaxBearcat and he was the person who got the whole UC message board stuff started.
Thank you. I will try to not disappear as long as I did this time. It's good to be remembered.

It will be played where the Bearcats want it played or it won't be played. UC can live without the game. XU can't.
USBank or 5th/3rd Arena...deal with it Mack and Muskies…
XU will be playing a defacto away game for the Shootout err Classic from now on because you've shown overtime that you can not control your fans and your fans can not control themselves.
(I did see the XU student yell at Cash when he fell over at the baseline. Loved Cash's reaction which was a big cheese eating grin.)
Playing Devil's Advocate, as much as it pains me, we will need Xavier a lot more than we current do if the conference realignment train keeps UC in CUSA 2.0. With conference games against basketball juggernaut's like ECU, Tulane, SMU, UCF, USF and possibly Fresno State and Nevada we are going to need a hearty OOC schedule.
That's a good point, although I take a different approach which was mentioned during the game iirc: It's not whether UC or X needs it more - it's the city's game. The arrogance and selfishness to think otherwise is or would be disgusting. Both schools have a duty imo to figure out how to make it work. It would be a pitiful commentary on both universities if they can't.

I was wondering if that was still the case. 10 years ago I knew someone that had good seats at Cintas and they were essentially free compared to what you would have to pay for similar seats at 5/3. Not sure where that program generates money, must have a few large donors footing most of the bill.
If what the op says is true, the donation/ticket prices factor sounds a lot more like our problem than theirs.

This.
X has a solid ticket-buying base of about ~8.5-9K. Lack of enthusiasm this year (especially after losing Lyons, Wells, 2 incoming recruits and the lingering distaste after the fight) is more than likely behind the ticket sales.
And whoever said "UC is never going back to Cintas" is just wrong or has bad information. I've heard from very reliable sources on both sides that there is a desire to return to the home court rotation soon.
The game is too much of a money-maker for both sides to keep at a neutral site, where neither side controls concessions, parking and premium seating.
That's a great point and money will most likely be the determining factor sooner rather than later. But you also need to consider the fact that US Bank has higher capacity than either home court. Would additional revenues from US Bank offset the additional costs? That's the biggest factor. (BTW, I'm 100% behind keeping the series, but neutral on whether it gets played at US Bank or at rotating home courts.)
