SOT: Why I hate the nBE board
Everyone thinks their so much better just because they have the Big East name attached to them now. They feel teams like USM, Marshall, Tulsa, and La Tech are scum who shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as their own schools and would rather bring in Fresno and UNLV.

And yes I am including quite a few of my fellow pirates *COUGHnbpirateCOUGH* in this. Just a year or so ago these same users were all for standing together and to keep playing the likes of Marshall and USM. Makes me freaking sick.

Needless to say, I'm sticking with CUSAbbs till the bitter end.

I gotta say this..

I find it funny that ECU tried like hell to get in the BE for years.. And as soon as they do, it goes kapoot.

If it weren't for bad luck ECU and USM would have no luck at all sometimes.

The administration has tried for years. I've always wanted the ACC as that WAS one of the most stable conferences. Now I have think that B1G and Pac-12 are the 2 most stable conferences around

Why is this surprising? I know it is a little different situation but the remaining members of CUSA did this to the new members.

No pity here.

LOL. Let them enjoy it while they can. No matter what conference they are in, all of them are now on the same level as everyone else in the "Group of Five".

Time will prove that being in a more regional setup is the way to go for "Group of Five" members.

At the end of the day, regardless of the conference we are in.....we play for the same access. That's reality whether they want to accept it or not.

As a Marshall fan, I could care less what the dick wads of the "Blown Up Big East" thinks. It isn't like they are in a Conference with the WHO, Miami, VA Tech, BC, Pitt, Syacuse or the basketball schools. And every school thats in the "Blown Up Big East" will never be in a conference with those schools. It isn't like any of them are going to the National Title game.

Never went to the BE board and don't plan on going to the "Blown Up Big East Board". They will not be known as the BE, the C7 will take that name. And if any of them think they are so bigger than Marshall, Tulsa, USM and others, I say let them think that. They have to think somehow to make the move.

I hope Hamrick doesn't sign a contract with the 6 schools for 5-7 years, that includes ECU.

Well, the CUSAbbs board feels the same way about the MAC and Sun Belt most of the time.

It isn't something we are necessarily innocent of being, either.

That said, I do enjoy my conversation on CUSAbbs much more, but BEbbs...eh, it has its charms, too. 03-razz

If that's true then you guys would try to rejoin the MAC. Just being more regional alone isn't the answer.

SEC is the most stable, and it's not even close.

You would think so but with the addition of Mizzou and Texas A&M there are now two agendas in play.

Lets say that UNC, Clemson, Kansas, and Baylor are in the mix for the SEC.

The original members would likely lean towards UNC and Clemson as their within the footprint WHILE the two new western additions will be advocating for Kansas and Baylor as travel partners.

B1G is the Great Lakes/Northeast Academic schools with Basketball first
Pac-12 is the west coast academic schools with football first

Been there, Done that, x2.

If you think this is going to help get ECU to a "Big Boy Conference", then you keep thinking that. ECU, UCF, Marshall and the rest will never make the cut. The big boys in your state and in the state of FL will never allow it. The sooner some of you all realize this the sooner you will care less on where you are at in the scheme of college athletics.

There have only been 3 lottery winners in college realignment. That is Utah, TCU and Louisville. If things keep going the way some think it will, then 2 of those winners will go broke.

I'm not a believer it's a lottery ticket. I'm just saying it's much more about being with the best overall group possible and not just the most regional group possible. Regional helps, but regional doesn't help if they aren't regional teams your fans care about seeing you play.

RE: SOT: Why I hate the nBE board
It has been pretty much a non stop pissing match between all of the have not's since the 2004 departure of much of CUSA. There are very few life boats left and only a few schools on any of these boards that have a shot mainly UC and UCONN. The rest of us are pretty much porked but for some reason we want the other guys to be more porked. I just want ECU in a decent Conference as big money TV contracts and BCS access are off the table except for the Red Headed Step Child BCS bid for a 11-1 or 12-0 season. I had hoped at one point that ECU, Southern Miss and Marshall would be the foundation of whatever became of CUSA or a new Eastern Conference.
I would happy as can be if the NBE or whatever it comes to be called ends up all sports and we are playing UCONN, UC, USF, UCF, Temple, Boise St, San Diego St, UH, SMU etc.. If a new league threw in Southern Miss, Tulsa and Marshall I would be all the more happy.

End of the day I have no idea how this turns out but I do think people on this board spend too much time battling each other when the real enemy is the Big 5 and ESPN. CUSA will be fine and the solid teams in CUSA like Tulsa, Southern Miss and Marshall will have every shot at a 11-1, 12-0 season that could give them a BCS bid. Schools in the NBE will be fine no matter what happens from an all sports league to a hybrid or a implosion of just the CUSA schools +Temple forming a new league.
