JUCO Signing Day 12/19
List 'em if you know them.
I won't be available to do so for TXST tomorrow so maybe I can have some help on that front.
I don't want to jump the gun on anyone until their name is inked.

RE: JUCO Signing Day 12/19
MT will be signing JUCO WR Devin Clarke.

He had originally signed with USF out of high school.

3-star guy originally, and a 3 star JUCO by Rivals. 2 Star by 247.

Looks like he'll try to replace Anthony Amos. We've almost no holes on our roster with all the guys we have coming back, but WR is one of them.

We signed two. 6-4 QB Clay Chastain out of Georgia Military College and 6-3 310 lb. DL George Rogers of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

Clay Chastain is a 3 star ranked the 3rd best JUCO QB. #66 JUCO in the nation.

WKU signed 5 JUCO. OL, OL, DL, DB, WR. Don't really know much about any of them, but it looks like ole' Bobby is plugging holes (pun intended).

Per a tweet by our beat writer: OL: Conner Popeck 6-3/295; Johnny Delaney 6-6/310; DL (3*) Maurice Bennett 6-3/290; DB Dalton Patterson 6-3/?; and, WR Lonnie Turner 5-10/175

RE: JUCO Signing Day 12/19
So far the Jags have signed 6 Juco players.
3 DBs, 2 RBs, and a WR.

http://southalabama.247sports.com/Season...ll/Commits

The two safeties are twin brothers. Steffon and Steven Fuller. The guy who puts names on the back of the jerseys is probably having a fit right now.

RE: JUCO Signing Day 12/19
So far we have only signed an OL and a QB.

Also, one of our high school commits signed early and will enroll in January.

Guess the parenets really had a thing for the name Steven. Good thing they weren't triplets.

We got 2. We have others that will likely sign on Feb 6.
Demetrius Woodard, 6'2" 210 lb Safety. Blinn College, Brenham, TX
Kristofer Petersen, 6'4" 235 lb TE, Chabot CC, Hayward, CA (runs a 4.35 40)

Who we lost out on
Sam Wren DE, Arizona Western - committed in early October but got a late call from OSU. No brainer there.
Tevin Broussard, S, Blinn - persued early. Offered but coaching staff took another direction. Signed with UTSA.
JD Krill TE, Saddleback CC - had him on the verge. The UTSA debacle was the gamechanger. Signed with UConn.

That dude does not run a 4.35 40. At his size, if that was the case he would not be at Texas State.

Kids say the darndest things.

I just wrote the info I got.
It's not an impossibility but I'm sure it's inaccurate. Rivals has 4.6
FWIW - Usain Bolt is 6'5" 210 (estimated 3.97 40)

Our (to be) Jr RB runs a 4.35 (fastest on team) but he's 5'9" 194. (school record is 4.32)
This was timed in the fall because they had a team competition. Kid did run track in HS and was part of a State record setting relay.

It's 4.6/40 and for a TE is still very fast.

RE: JUCO Signing Day 12/19
FAU pulled in 4. All expected to enroll and participate in Spring ball.

QB Jaquez ‘Quez’ Johnson (6’2”, 230) – East Mississippi Community College – Johnson started his football career at Starkville High School, where his senior season came to an abrupt halt after he needed surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. Memphis and UAB had been recruiting him as a passer, while ULM wanted him as a linebacker. Johnson instead elected to enroll at East Mississippi Community College where he threw for 2,805 yards this season and accounted for 39 total touchdowns. Highlights.

OT Braden Lyons (6’5”, 290) – City College of San Francisco – Lyons signed with the Owls over offers from UTSA and Old Dominion. The lineman originally graduated from Sonoma High School in northern California, before spending two seasons at Division II Humboldt State. This past year he played for City College of San Francisco, where the team finished with a 10-2 record. Highlights.

DT Derek Butcher (6’5”, 295) – North Dakota State College of Science – Hailing from Delano High School in Minnesota, Butcher played at North Dakota State College of Science this pasts season and recorded 71 tackles. He had two games this year in which he tallied a season-high 16 tackles, and is viewed as a high-motor player. He chose the Owls over offers from Gardner Webb, Florida A&M, SE Louisiana and a walk-on opportunity at Minnesota. Highlights.

WR Rodney 'Lucky' Whitehead (5’9”, 165) – Dean College – The shifty and quick Whitehead thrived at Dean College as a pass catcher and punt returner. He was named to the NJCAA All-American First Team after totaling 896 yards and eight touchdowns this past season. Whitehead was a dual-quarterback at Osbourn High School in Virginia before heading to junior college and receiving offers from UConn, Bowling Green, Charlotte, Old Dominion and FAU. Highlights.
