No, I find these "everything is going to be alright, here are the facts" threads, kind of stupid and pathetic at this point. BE, C-USA, NBE and N-CUSA posters have done enough of them, then something changes and then they have to do a new one. So, in essence, they are just a waste of time imo.

RE: The new C-USA is going to be fine.
conf usa will be fine. all it takes is for one team to get going and get some pub like boise did in wac or even close to that. I really like the additons that have been made. Alot of people give the belt crap but they were a better conf this year than conf usa. ODU is a great additon as well like Marshall, UCONN, etc they were division 1aa sorry still call it that. La Tech has had success lately and utsa is sort of like odu but moving a little quicker both loaded with potential. If we can hang in there for a few years will be fine 04-cheers

Want out? Sure, but to where? To the NBE leftovers? If it's cheap enough, yes, if it's $7-10 million, no thanks. It would take ages, if ever, to make that money back considering what they're TV deal will probably be.

UTEP, Tulsa, and Rice are studying the move to MWC. I hope it makes $$ sense, and the move happens.

We are in this for the long haul, why?? Look at our record against the group thats leaving.
This is as good of a place as any to take this subject off track just a little. But anywhere else the spinmasters of the defector schools would come in with the usual remarks.
I dont believe everything i see or read in the media. No matter who you watch or listen to its gonna have some degree of spin. Even my favorite of fox news.
I have never bought this "market" argument. I got to thinking last night while sippin on some Wild turkey ameican honey and came up with somthing.

Since Bosie has gotten involed with this thing we have heard one thing over and over. they (be) were committed to a western division. If thats the case why havent the added any western teams? AFA said no, BYU has said no. Both more than once. Thats the ones we have heard of. After all these months, what western comonent did they add? East carolina and Tulane........

There is NOTHING western about ecu, even the bbq sits alone from the rest of the planet (not a knock at any kind of bbq. bbq in any form is one of gods great gifts). ONly thing west about nola ithe saints used to play in the nfc west.

Why then if a league whos committed to the west for 2 schools goes and invites tulane and a football only invit to ecu? Then suddenly the split we all predicted for a year SUDDENLY HAPPENS........

Ray charles should have seen this coming guys. The be cant get a western team to say yes, mainly cause the $$$$ are as bad we we said they would be. The catholic 7 see this, cause they dont get their info from the media or message boards, THEY KNOW ITS NOT WORKING AND YELLED ENOUGH!

The western schools see the money isnt there to counter the increased travel so no one is biting.

The tv contract expires in june but do you wait until then? I dont know abotu the other schools but at Southern miss our seson tickets go on sale in March or early April with priority deadline of the end of may, meaning the league has is scheule set in March. You better have your tv deal in place pdq and its no where in site.

This thing is more smoke and mirrors than it appeared. Things will cool for a few weeks, during the bowls. As soon as the bowls are over it heats up again. The coaches convention is right after so the ads can get together easy. Look for the acc to take uconn and maybe uc cuase they will lose some schools to someone, who knows who and where yet.

RE: The new C-USA is going to be fine.
The more this Big East mess unfolds the more I agree with this sentiment.

The West actually looks pretty strong with Tulsa, USM, Tech, UTEP, UNT, UTSA and Rice. Thats not a bad looking side and travel costs are gonna be nice.

The east is kindof a mess but I honestly dont care that much. Were gonna have 2 crossover games..thats not that big of a deal or drag on SOS.

At the end of the day win out or have one loss to an OU/Bama type team and you are probably gonna get to the BCS bowl.

New CUSA will be what each individual program makes of it. It'll be interesting to see how soon Charlotte expands upon it's stadium.

RE: The new C-USA is going to be fine.
CUSA East may be stronger than our friends in the West expect. MT isn't a start-up program and we fully expect to finish in the top 2 in EVERY sport in the East every year. We respect all our new conference mates immensely (especially Marshall, UAB, NT, and USM), and unlike many apparently, we intend to compete in CUSA for decades.

Won/Loss%
Football since 1911: 528-392-28 (56%); this year 8-4
Men's Basketball since 1913: 1081-990 (52%); last year 27-7 (NIT)
Baseball since 1957: 1340-1036 (56%); last year 31-28
Women's Basketball since 1975: 738-353 (68%); last year 26-7 (NCAA)

We understand we have to prove our value to earn respect. We're the newby....we get it. But CUSA invited a solid stable program, a strong growing university, and a committed conference member in MT. Smack at will, but we intend to be a good conference partner to all who are committed to CUSA.

I think it looks pretty good personally. It's not huge, but it looks good.

Rice is a special case when it comes to baseball. There are few schools in the nation with a comparable program.

We're pretty spoiled here in Houston. My son plays for one of the smaller local schools and they play in the tournaments out in the suburbs where the schools have facilities like the one pictured.

well, utep certainly has little in common with schools like marshall and odu..they should be aligned with the western schools like those in the mwc..maybe even take tulsa with them or nmsu or maybe texas state..
