Good for you guys. All of us should hold our in-state SEC adversaries to a "higher standard"...since they like to tell us they are so much better than we are.

stAte is the type of program that can give an SEC school a much higher level of grief than most other mid-majors since it is the only other FBS program in the state. Every other state with a Contract Conference team has either multiple non-contract conference teams or more than one team in a contract conference.

At least he recognized that stAte exists. That's a step in the right direction.

How is this any different than Mississippi State using their "This is our State" campaign? Sorry, don't see the big uproar here. He didn't say anything derogatory about ASU.

Simple, the University of Arkansas shares fans and donors with us, and yet refused to play us. They also spent years trying to use the legislature to prevent us from ever becoming a 4 year school, and then a Division I program. They championed the argument that there was not enough room in this state for 2 FBS programs.

Miss State and Ole Miss are rivals who play every year. They are going to take shots at each other. Arkansas for 40 years has essentially refused to acknowledge our existance. To suddenly start taking shots at us on Twitter, opens up a whole can of worms in both the public and the media.

Literally, taking a pot shot at ASU could potentially cost the University of Arkansas a few fans and donors, who are already sitting on the fence. Fans will take shots at each other, but never administrators. The last time this happened to my knowledge was 7 years ago when an Arkansas employee took offense to us flying the state flag upside down in the WNIT matchup.

Miss St campaign doesn't deny Ole Miss or USM exist. Long endorsed the idea there is no Red Wolf territory in the state.

He made an error. He retweeted trash-talk about a team that his school is afraid to lose to and has a policy against playing. That school's #1 Fan is his boss, the Governor. The Speaker of the House is an alum of that school. Some of his donors are from NEA and are dual fans.

He walked it back later. I suspect that is the last time he tweets "Red Wolves".

It has a lot of parallels to Scotland vs. England. Hard to understand unless you are Scottish.
