NBR Memphis fans have gone off the deep end...again
Blaming their loss to Louisville today on the officials, particularly one official, who in this thread,

http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=607624

they are saying he is biased toward Memphis because he lives near Knoxville. One of them also posts a link to a thread from a Baylor message board, who had problems with him in the NCAA tournament and has his phone number and address listed.

Although now deleted, one Memphis poster was wanting to know what hotel the official was staying at.

When I called them on their idiocy, I got reported to a moderator.

I wish ours was that active without the drop in the average IQ that accompanies the crowding.

What I found funny in their game thread was the recurring "We're the home team, dammit! We're supposed to get the calls!" theme. 03-lol

memphis fans are going to miss CUSA officiating. In the Southland or whatever league they end up in, they might not get those "Walking in Memphis" calls or the blind-eye to Pastner playing sixth-man D on anyone close to the bench.

Ever since Jim Burr screwed them in the NCAA Tournament game against Arizona, their angst with officiating has been nothing less than historic.

I didn't get to see the game against Louisville, so I can't say for sure if that's the case this time. They're going to "pay some dues" in the Big East before they start enjoying any success over there.

They've been crying about referees longer than the Arizona game. Funny thing is that as the incoming BE team playing an outgoing BE team, if. There was a bias, they would be getting the calls.

It's somewhat scary that some would go to the trouble to find a referees phone number, address and place of employment and direct others to that site

Haha, So true! Although in the officials defense oompa loompa's are crafty and very difficult to see.

I've avoided posting over there since the game...some oddities come out of the woodwork after a loss.

I don't like to blame officiating for losses...we still had our chances and blew them. However, that was one of the worst spectacles of officiating I've ever seen. Even the TV guys had a hard time justifying what they were seeing. Had that game been called more evenly, UL never re-enters the picture. In fact, I'll go a step further. Some of the ridiculous non-calls that benefitted UL and some of the absurd ones against us meant that we could not keep the guys we wanted on the floor while UL had no such concerns.

46-20...that was the number of UL free throws to the number of UM free throws.

Then I moved on...had a great time playing with the kiddos, and going to a Christmas party. It is sill just a game.

After, let's see just off the top of my head, the non-call on Josh Pastner STEPPING ONTO THE COURT to play defense on Jordan Swing last year that caused a TO in a one-possession game; the non-call on Robert Vaden being assaulted on the last drive to the basket in 2008; the phantom call on Aaron Johnson . . . a memphis fan coming HERE to complain about officiating is pretty damned rich. You've gotten way more than your share of officiating gifts, and eventually it had to even out. So take it with no vaseline and smile.

First, if I'm coaching against Pastner, I tell my guys to run into him anytime he's on the court. Go as hard as you can, and make sure he doesn't want to step out there again.

Vaden was way past the 3 point line where he was "assaulted". He dribbled into a double team and just tossed the ball up.

The call on Johnson was ridiculous.

Ha! Someone apparently holds grudges...and I'm sure UAB has never had a head-scratching call go their way.

Anyway, I happened to come over here for the hell of it...saw a thread about how crazy we are...and felt like responding.

Game must have been on two channels because the TV guys I saw said that Memphis should have adjusted to how the refs were calling the game. They said Memphis didn't adjust and Louisville did. The screaming about the free throw disparity is ridiculous. 14 of those free throws came late when Memphis was trying to foul. And you see that kind of difference a lot in games. I'm sure Memphis has had some too.

It still doesn't excuse tracking down personal information about a referee and putting it out there for some unstable fan to use.

Yeah, I don't remember anyone ever posting an official's personal info (other than maybe his name) here. Maybe that's why we're not "big time".

I like this idea. Perfect role for ASW!

And if a fight breaks out, a) he is the Karate Kid and b) with Pastner's control of his team, you've got to figure at least half the memphis bench would be fighting against Pastner.

I heard the comment about adjusting...that tells me to believe the game is t being called the way it should. UL didn't have to adjust, they brought the officials.

Before the end of game free throw extravaganza, they still had a 2-1 (ish) FT margin.

Postin for, or even trying to find info about the refs personal life should always be off limits. There's a line...and that's not even putting a toe over it. That's more like taking a full tuning start and triple jumping over the damn line.
