Add NMSU.. UNM..UAB build from there... Forget everyone else.. Nice geographical conference.. But it makes too much sense..we need markets n stuff .. But what will work is a REGIONAL conference play each other for 40 years and everything will take care of itself
I thought UTEP fans didn't like NMSU?

I think CUSA west looks great for 2013.
I will happily trade SMU an Houston for USM and La TEch every year.
The east kindof sucks but Tulsa should be able to win this conference, and win the championship game against MArhsall/ECU.
Should be a fun year next year.

It's a rivalry. They are only 40 mins away and have to use our airport. It's in UTEP's best interest to keep NMSU in a conference beneath us.

Leave houston and smu out and you might get a huge yes.
Why would we want to leave Houston out? They have been one of our best rivals since '96. No man, I love competing against Houston.

You leave Yoston out because they are a smaller version of Memphis and lousisville. They dont work and play well with others in their league.

then add at least 2 to 3 bowl tie ins in SA, Dallas and EP and you got a nice conference and I think there is also a bowl in Birmingham...

I agree. USM-Houston was my favorite part of CUSA. UH gave CUSA 1.0 a lot of football legitimacy in my 1996 opinion. The games in 1996, 1997, 2004, 2006 (x2), and 2011 were awesome. Houston has so much history in FB, BB, and golf. Houston is also a Nobel Prize winner for a very significant scientific innovation. They are the crown jewel of CUSA (setting aside my own school just to be objective).

Also, if PS3 is accurate, I like their fight song.

Just read my post instead. I've never heard another USM fan say a cross word about Houston. Everyone has an opinion, but I think that one's BS.
