Wink From The Sun Belt Board
This sounds like it could be a Jeff Foxworthy joke:

"If your school competes for something called the 'Bubba Cup'.......you might be in the Sun Belt."

Come on Dec 21st!!!!!!!!!

Its been that way for more than a decade.

They story goes that they PBR hired a 20-something to market the product. Rather than overt marketing like Bud and Coors do, they guy started a no-marketing, underground campaign with the artists, skateboarders, bike messengers...hipsters in Portland. This spread like wild fire

Nope, and the problem is that this mentality has spread to other 'lesser' beers. In Texas, Lone Star and Pearl were considered cheap gut rot beer. When I was in college you could get a case of tallboys (16oz) for under $10. I would take it to parties and never worry about people poaching my beer.

That has all changed. Austin hipsters swarmed to it and the prices rose dramatically at clubs and shows. Last time I was at Austin City Limits, a Lone Star tallboy cost more ($8) than a Heineken ($7). It boggled my mind.

Love me some PBR. 30 rack can be easily had for ~$15. It doesn't taste particularly good, but it doesn't taste particularly bad either. Plus PBR deuces are $1.

PBR always gets the job done. If I'm going cheap PBR is always a solid choice.

You don't compete for the Bubba Cup, you spit your chew into it.

Am I old if I don't know what a "30 rack" or a "deuce" is?

Not at all. You're old because it's in the profile name you chose for yourself :)

A "30 rack" is a 30-pack of beers sold together. Like a 12-pack of soda, except 2.5 times more. A "deuce" is a 22 ounce can of beer, also known as a "deuce-deuce".

You drink enough of it and you can't tell the difference with any other beer.
