RE: Bengals vs Eagles
Murph, I hear you, but they are 8-6 with two games left, so worst case is .500 and no playoffs. Best cases 10-6 and a playoff game.

A few years ago a lot of whining about consecutive losing seasons (rightfully so), then not making the playoffs two years ina row, then not winning a playoff game.......I hope they win out and then win a playoff game so everyone has to find something new to ***** about.

Start of the season I thought this team could go no better than 7-9, so I am happily surprised they are still in it.

If they go 10-6 and win a playoff game I will gladly find something else to ***** about.

If they miss the playoffs, I absolutely will ***** and rightfully so.

So you thought this was a playoff team before the season started? I wouldn't be satisfield with .500 but if they even go 9-7 I'll be surprised. I don't think they make the playoffs but at least they haven't rolled over as they have sometimes in the past.

I don't worry about what I thought at the beginning of the season, when you win games, expectations change.

The bottom line to me is that it is time for Marvin to actually win some big games or bring someone in who will. MB obviously won't do that as I'm sure he is fine with mediocrity.

You need a reality check. If the direction of the team had stayed the same I would have agreed wholeheartedly with you,but I think the Bengals are on the rise. I don't think they'll make the playoffs this season but one more solid draft, including a scatback a dependable #2 WR and a safety and they are right where they need to be to make a run.

What scares me is Zim going and or Gruden bolting. Given the Bengals history I would not be able to count on them to make the right hire and then we'd be right back where you perceive the Bengals to be.

As far as expectations changing , didn't expectations change when they dropped three in a row? Sure they have a lot of improving to do but for now, I think they are hanging in there. Give them a break.

Bengals are a Jets loss and a win in Pittsburgh from the playoffs. Jets doing their part so far.

I texted a buddy after the Titans shanked that punt and was like "Can the Jets somehow win this game for their 3rd straight win and stay in the playoff race?"

And then that play happened What a magical way for the Jets season to end.

Pretty simple for the Bengals. Win at Pittsburgh and they are a playoff team and the division could still be in play.

RE: Bengals vs Eagles
For the bengals to get into the playoffs with a loss to Pittsburgh, they would need to beat Baltimore and have Pittsburgh lose to Cleveland at home right?

Basically this week is a near must win. Really too bad they blew the Dallas game.

Exactly right. A loss this week and the Bengals are depending on Cleveland. A win this week and they are in.

Definitely a must-win considering Cleveland hasn't won in Pittsburgh since 2003. At this point they really need to win out and hopefully get the division. Huge difference between hosting Indianapolis and going to New England.
