Greg Swaim Show ‏@GSwaim
There are some rumblings that the #Big12 is feeling pressure to expand. This is not coming from TV partners, however, so playoff related

Yep. From a more credible source

@ChuckCarltonDMN: While saying bigger isn't necessarily better in conferences, Bob Bowlsby said Big 12 "could be proactive" on expansion.

Like I said, they will want a playoff. They are going to need it in case they have a 1 loss team that needs to
get to 12-1 and make they playoff.

@JFowlerCBS: A 10-team Big East will go with no divisions, eight conference games in 2013, per source.

Swaim tweets:

@GSwaim: Sitting back waiting on this to happen, and finally looks like it's close with #Big12 raiding #ACC in a larger block than expected.

@GSwaim: Several schools who were less responsive to leaving now much more receptive to money (TV folks on board). #FSU #Clemson #GoCanes #GT

More from Swaim (Take it for what its worth — which is nothing until someone with more cred reports the same or similar)

Greg Swaim Show ‏@GSwaim

Two actual offers to #ACC school have been made by each the #B1G & #Big12, for a total of four....more forthcoming.

FWIW:

Greg Swaim Show ‏@GSwaim
#Clemson was a sticking point, as they are not the first choice of several #Big12 schools, but apparently that's now been worked out.

Greg Swaim Show ‏@GSwaim
When all is said and done, #B1G & #SEC take two more each, and #Big12 takes 4-6, all from the #ACC this go around.

The Dude of WV ‏@theDudeofWV
@RoninODoyle We could see 8 to 10 schools leave the ACC in the next few weeks. 2 each to B1G & SEC & 4-6 yo B12.

Since when are Greg swaim and the dude of wv tweets considered news?

I listened to part of Swaim's show today. His guest was the Dude from WV and it seems as if all of his information comes from the Dude. He says he has BIGXII sources, but did not offer any information but the Dude's. Take it for what it's worth, but the Dude says that UVA has applied to the B1G and they have completed their due diligence. Now looking for the partner for UVA much in the manner that the B1G needed a partner for Rutgers, or it was off.

Per Texas mouthpiece Chip Brown, talks of the B12 expanding are heating up. Not a huge revelation, but considering the source it is noteworthy.

Expansion by the Big 12 into Ohio would add considerable TV markets to there network. Cincinnati market would automatically add a major TV potential. UC games are watched by fans all over Ohio even if they are not UC fans UC would not of course compete with OSU head to head but would pick up thousands of fans watching when UC played Oklahoma, Texas, WVU in Football. That would also be true in basketball with games against Kansas, Texas,WVU, K ST. Cincinnati media market is larger then Kansas, Iowa St, West Virginia and Oklahoma. If you add the viewers picked up from from Columbus, Cleveland and other areas in Ohio it provides greater numbers. There are more people in the Cincy metro area then in the whole state of West Virginia. Plus key games played in the Big 12 would add thousands of fans to UC fan base.[/i]

I agree with your premise, but I keep thinking back to when they chose WVU over UL and us, and some B12 people pointed to some internal study that TV wise, UC "didn't move the needle" that much.

B12 is meeting to pick 4 teams that will be offered. Only ? is about Clemson. FSU, Miami, NC State are locks.

This was the guy who broke the Maryland and Rutgers chatter first and people thought he was crazy

a related story is here:
http://baylor.247sports.com/Article/Does...-10-112908

it includes a timeline of pertinent Big12 dates.

"7/1 is the last day to exit the ACC before the new $50 million penalty can be incurred, according to the Maryland lawsuit on ACC bylaws. Exiting 7/2 or after will incur the fee passed by 10 of 12 conference teams."

All this Big 12 & ACC scheduling alliance talk could be to UC favor. It would reduce the available suitors if the Big 12 needs to add teams for playoff.

Not just one but many articles just google Big 12 & ACC alliance.
