Why has SMUs crappy athletics never came into question? Or did they just pay people to keep their mouths quiet?

Because they're the hero college football deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hate them. Because they can take it. Because they're not our hero; they're silent guardians, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight.

USA Today Wrote:At this point, the Big East for 2013 would include holdovers UConn and Cincinnati, plus new all-sports additions Houston, SMU, Memphis, Temple, Central Florida and South Florida. Boise State and San Diego State agreed to join the Big East as football-only members in 2013. Rutgers and Louisville, departing for the Big Ten and ACC, respectively, are not supposed to join their new leagues until 2014, though the current instability could help them go earlier.

any time you see this guy post it's some shot at ECU on every thread. Doesn't matter, they didn't want any off us clearly and least of all UNCC despite your built in market, which says more about your athletics than anything else. We got our spot in the 6th best conference no matter what happens and the sooner they leave the better for us. You need to start worrying more where you are going to be and less about where we went.

Hey man, we sure do miss you over there on NNN. How bout coming back and nomming on some of that crow?

We got our spot in the 6th best conference no matter what happens and the sooner they leave the better for us. You need to start worrying more where you are going to be and being left behind.

The schools that left are responsible for 100% of this. If everybody had stayed, we'd be looking at easy street. So shut your mouth about leaving people behind.

Dude, chill out...Let see how things work out. No need for everyone to get at each others throats here. All ECU and any other school out there is doing is trying to set their programs up for survival in the future. I venture to say any team in CUSA that would have been invited to the Big East would have accepted.

There is no telling how this is going to work out but according to Terry Holland this action by the basketball schools does not change the commitment of the football schools to each other. He said everyone of the schools still plan to move forward together to build the best football conference they can. So that is all we can go on at this point...Who the hell knows for sure as that last few years have shown us you can not trust anyone's word when it comes to conference realignment.

Kind of like us (Coach Holland/ECU) advocating on behalf of ODU and UNCC for inclusion in C-USA so that we could have regional rivals and then bailing on them at the first opportunity? And leaving USM and Marshall, two of our biggest and certainly, until we turned our backs on them, our most dependable rivals, for that hell hole formerly known as the big east?

"Who the hell knows for sure as that last few years have shown us you can not trust anyone's word when it comes to conference realignment." Your words, not mine.

We look as greedy and smarmy as anyone involved in this BS. And don't come attacking me for saying it, anyone that has an ounce of intellectual honesty knows it's true. I am as big a fan of Coach Holland as there is, but man he has really amazed me recently with some of these decisions. And again, I don't really care what the unhinged clowns posting from their moms basement in their underwear have to say about it. You know who you are.

I've been back and congratulated you on the win, which in the grand scheme of things is pretty minor to what's going on right now I think you'd admit. There are far bigger issues going on that will separate the winners and losers of the non big 5. It's pretty evident the way you guys take shots at us on every single thread that we have the upper hand. You don't really see us taking petty shots at you or CUSA when FAU or Middle Tennesse are added to your conference because at this point there is no motivation to kick you when your down, nor do most of us care at this point.

There is just no way to have a civilized conversation right now with you people. I'll comeback over when it cools down. Until then I'm around and you know where to find me. Over here I got 50k of my buddies to help address butt hurt ******* like this.

I won't give you the satisfaction to derail a thread over your constant baiting. With every post you make, you bash Charlotte and its fans. Then spin it like everyone attacks you.

I might warn you that I would probably wait to talk conference alignment **** until the dust has settled. You remember that aneurism you had when mighty TH let us in CUSA right beside you?

There are more BE threads on the CUSA board than on the BE board

Its like you live in an alternate universe.03-banghead You have a home for football ONLY and that home is sitting ocean-front on a quickly eroding beach. Your other "house" is sitting in the woods somewhere 2 miles inland by itself. Meanwhile, Charlotte has one nice home, sitting on stable land on the 2nd or 3rd row from the ocean right now, but more than likely will be on prime ocean freight real estate within the next 2-3 years. Will ECU be our neighbor again then? If THEY are lucky, they will be.

03-lmfao We have top 40 attendance in the big boy sport. Let me give you a little example of the kinds of schools we outdraw, some by as many as 10 or 15k.

Illinois
Georgia Tech
Maryland
Arizona
California
Kansas
Kansas St
Louisville
Miami
Syracuse
Stanford
Rutgers
UConn
Purdue
Pitt
Oregon St
Boston College
Minnesota

I could go on but all you really need to know is that we completely belong where we are if not better because we resemble a mid level BCS program in every way, and as far as non BCS schools go we are as good as it gets. We have another 10k seat expansion on the way in 2 years and when we do get them and a better schedule that's coming we very well could be the biggest show in this state with UNC and NC State only at 56k fans a game.

You're not even close and never will be. You may one day be able to play on our street, but you will never have a house like ours in the sport that really matters. You'll be like the trailer on stilts at the end of the street even if you do end up with beach front property, which isn't even a given with established schools like USM, Tulsa and schools out west like Fresno and UNLV etc out there viaing for the same spots in what will become the 6th best conference there is.
