Well, it just so happens that if the 6 defectors plus Temple, USF, Cincy and UConn come aboard, that's exactly what we would have.

If I'm Temple, Cincy, or UConn...I'm not even sniffing C-USA unless Britton Banowski is no longer the commissioner.

Man, this is all like the cliffhanger when J.R. got shot. Stay tuned. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

hahaha if we ended up in a pod with UCONN, Temple, and Cincy, I'd consider that a HUGE win for Charlotte...which means it's not happening.

I threw a different Florida team in each pod even though we know you'll never have all 4 in the same league. 03-razz

I'd be on board with that pod setup. As NN said, that's too perfect for Charlotte to work out.

Do not get your hopes up guys...The Big East football schools are full steam ahead with the plans they already had...The basketball schools leaving does not change their plans or commitment to each other.

But we know who shot JR, it was ESPN.

LOL.

They have no commitment to each other. They all went to the Big East individually.

Also, ask Boise State if they aren't considering changing their plans when they'd make more money in both football and basketball in the MWC.

I'm sure Boise is still gonna fly all over creation for $2 mil a year.

Show me the money ECU. It's a bunch of C-USA teams and changing the name of the league does not make them more valuable. That $40 mil you were going to get is still shrinking.

Who said they can make more money in the MWC. As is see it right now the MWC does not even get as much as CUSA...Sure if they go back along with a couple of other schools the MWC could renegotiate their deal but it is still doubtful it would be a huge increase. The Big Eas football schools retain their BCS AQ bid for next season so I am sure they and SDSU will stay around long enough to see what can be done with Big East football. I am not saying that they could not change their minds still but I would imagine that they would see how things go. This could actually turn out to be a better situation for all that were going to be involved in the Big East football anyway. While this group of football schools will not be able to get money anywhere near what the Big East was looking at last year this time I still believe the money will be better than what any of us could get the MWC or CUSA.

Time will tell but it is going to be kind of fun to see how this all works out...Exciting times for sure.

They will not have to fly all over when the western part of the conference is finalized. Who knows, it could all still blow up. Does not really bother me either way...Time will tell but there is no doubt that we should be able to come up with a football contract that is still better than what we could get in CUSA or the MWC.

Yup, and just like every other school in every conference outside of the Big 5 trying to find a way up.

ECU fans were never the ones saying we were going to get a big pay day out of this deal. For us it was more of a situation of trying to align ourselves with certain schools.
