we are not coming back to this dump. no way houston or SMU gets associated with the likes of UNT and UTSA. Hoping for a new conference that takes Tulsa and So.Miss, then have fun in SBC 2.0
How does this sound:
SMU
Memphis
Cincy
UConn
Houston
ECU
USF
UCF
Temple
USM
Add Marshall and ODU to make it 12.
East - Uconn, ECU, UCF, Temple, ODU, Marshall
West - SMU, Memphis, UH, Cincy, USM, USF
12 teams with best record hosting CCG in football. Rotate Basketball tourney between Dallas, Houston, Orlando, and Charlotte. Tight (reasonably) geography and the best of whats left on the east coast.

Coogie'Boy, then yall just need to go to another dump instead. Whose going to know the difference besides all of you like UH and SMU who constantly are trying to be with other schools that really don't want to be with your schools? Shall I name about 6 conferences that meet that criteria?
Would UH like to be in the Orange Bowl this 1/1/13 like that school from another conference that you would undoubtedly call a dump, namely the MAC? One man's dump is another man's most treasured trip to a BCS Bowl, Coogie'Boy. When is the last time schools from the old CUSA were in a bowl as a BCS Buster? Really, when was the last time?

Yes, some. There are a few, such as Oldtiger, who never acted like an a**clown.
I envy his self-control.

I find irony in the fact that there is bashing of the defector schools from North Texas, who just defected from the Sunbelt....

RE: What Building can we use in Dallas to hang banners welcoming...
I wouldn't have a problem with the old members coming back. C-USA could be a larger two division conference with no cross over games. I know some of the fans of the NBE schools think themselves better then some of the new C-USA members, but those fans are wrong, and don't makes the moves for their programs anyway. The leadership may not want to come back, and that is fine too.
I think these schools will have to release a statement soon and announce a plan. Uncertainty is not good for anyone.
That's my two cents.

What a joke...start-up program with no academics or athletics is talking smack.
UAB, Marshall and UNT aint won a damn thing, in football, which FYI is pretty much the only thing that matters with MBB coming in distant second. I can live with UAB because atleast they enhance the academic profile. Marshall UNT UTSA absolutely worthless. Its just true.

I have to say, I'm liking the swagger of our new conference mates!
I would imagine this is not over by a stretch.......
Who knows what the landscape will look like on 01/01/14?
No hard feelings from here no matter what happens. Every school is going to be driven by what's best for them.
Go HERD !!!

Truthfully I don't know what DR Kopp and Mike Hamrick will want to do. Right now the 6 that left CUSA do not have a home conference, the C7 has the conference "Big East". Then NCAA does not have to grant a new conferece formation.
The 6 that left do not have bowl contracts or an autobid, no TV revenue and no network to play on. Tell me what makes this attractive......

Grow up! Nobody cares for the "my school is better than your school" banter. Tulane sure received some academic respect from the Catholic 7.

Hey Big Time...How about this conference below........(the old MVC again) tweaking schools that don't play football or are out of the central standard time zone and those that offer no significant TV market whatsoever but mostly talk a big talk to cover up for their lack of a TV market.
FWIW, the TV moguls do have to sell soap to a significant market especially when you are talking non-AQ conferences.
Non AQ School (or Conference) + Small TV Market ='s that which no TV advertisers will offer much TV revenue for each member of that kind of conference which seem to be over-loaded with small TV market schools. (Hey! It is what it is).
Some of the schools that were members of the Misssouri Valley Conference in the timeline 1959-1972--some left early--some left later
North Texas
Houston
Cincinatti
Tulsa
Louisville
Memphis
Wichita State
New Mexico State

I am not...I am sure UNT alums are some of the finest people. BUT...UNT did not add anything to the conference profile in academics or athletics. Its not just you guys, its all of the additions. We would happily come back if we did not have to play MSTU,FIU and FAU. These teams dont bolster the SOS and wont help land into top 4 if there is ever a small chance of that happening.
