He is in his 70's and doesn't want to work until he passes.

I cant blame him. Has to be a stressful job. Who knows, he might have Grand-kids that he wants to spend time with.

Maybe getting to the nBE was his end game. Now he needs to work on the ACC, has a ton of connection there. He's a good one, sorry to see him step down.

No surprise, he's not a young guy and with the BE invitation, he can go out doing a good thing for the university.

I wish Charlotte had an AD like him. Our AD is practically invisible.

RT @NoQuarterECU: Terry Holland will move into an athletics director emeritus role, and will stay until a new AD is hired.

RE: Holland stepping down at ECU?
Per WITN here in Greenville

Quote:Holland requested the change in his role, according to Chancellor Steve Ballard. The ECU Board of Trustees reviewed and supported the change and the naming during meetings on Nov. 30 and Dec. 10. Holland will continue to provide active oversight of the department's daily operations until a new athletics director is appointed. He will continue to report directly to Ballard through Dec. 31, 2014 as provided in his current employment contract.

Hopefully low and that's not an insult to Nick. I think he's very good in his current role, but would prefer that ECU use Neinas since he's on payroll and helped us land Holland in 04 and see who out there that might not be an obvious choice would be interested. No one 8 years ago believed Holland would want to be AD at ECU.

RE: Holland stepping down at ECU?
The obvious choices:
Nick Floyd - Executive Associate Director of Athletics at East Carolina
Jeff Barber - Athletics Director at Liberty
Jimmy Bass - Athletics Director at UNC-Wilmington

I'd prefer a national search though.. and if it's one of those two, that's fine.
