Light travels around the earth 7.5 times per second

Light travels just short of one foot in a nanosecond.
In one pico second light travels across the period at the end of this sentence. In one femtoscecond light travels about 1/1000th of the distance it travels in a picosecond. Or about the width of three hydrogen atoms.

Another way of thinking about the length of a femtosecond is this: One femtosecond is to one second as one second is to about 32 million years. We have even much smaller scales of time called attosecond which make femtoseconds seem like a long time.
One attosecond is to one second as one second is to 32 billion years.
And we have zeptoseconds which make attoseconds seem like a long time, and next is yoctoseconds which make zeptoseconds seem like a long time by comparison.
One zeptosecond is to one second as one second is to 32 trillion years, and one yoctosecond is to one second as one second is to 32 quadrillion years.
