I love the reactions on techsideline. Man those guys noses are so high in the air. Most of the VT alumn and people I talk to are very much in favor or a series.

We've got a few years to shore up the defense and maintain the offensive product. Hopefully we can have a surprise waiting for them when they finally come to the 757.

No more 2 for 1s and no other guarantee games ever again eh? What does ODU's OOC schedule look like for the coming years?

Next year we have UNC and Maryland and ECU. The following year, not OOC is not really that settled...

Congrats in getting a 2-1 with Virginia Tech. I'm sure you'll get similar or 1-1 deals with regional ACC and Big East schools.

After next year's independent schedule, we only have a total of 6 non-conference games scheduled.

2014: vs. Hampton
2015: vs. Norfolk State
2016: at Virginia Tech
2018: vs. Virginia Tech
2019: at Virginia Tech, vs. Idaho

Virginia Tech has been great to us, we play them home-home yearly through the year 2020.

From 2007 to 2020:
6 Games in Greenville
6 Games in Blacksburg
1 Game in Charlotte


Should be a great series for ODU. I would think playing VT will generate more fan interest than playing UVA would, but playing either at this point in your programs history is a great start.

In every sport, ODU does not do any guarantee or 2-1's, but a rare exception was made with our transition years for football. With the announcement to CUSA and FBS, we have had to scramble to simply put together a schedule for 2013 (2014 is still in the works), and thus the 1 and done deals.

Our athletic director has stated that VT is the only school we'd accept anything less than a 1-1. Any other program will be a 1-1 or 1 and done in Norfolk.

In fact, some of the UVA people actually believe this is slight to them because they would not get the same treatment. And well, they shouldn't, their football just isn't all that relevant or good. Our AD is trying to have regular series with ECU, Navy, and others to be announced in the future.
