It is going to be "veerrry interesting" to see how the red-shirts from 2012 will be brought into the line up for 2013. We may also see a few JUCO signees and early graduating HS players on that roster. What the depth chart looks like during that session will tell us a lot about where the staff thinks we are in personnel moving towards the new season.

Not sure where he will line up. I'll leave that up to the coaches, I am just ready to see him and all the other Blazers on the field.

I emailed this during the season to the coach's shows, but it was never asked. Just wondering...What does a redshirt season consist of? I imagine there's extra weight training and extra drills, but what is their typical day like? From your observation, do the guys look bigger, faster, stronger and more ready for D1 football. Anyone stand out?

To my knowledge, red shirts can be on the practice squad & do everything that the others do except play.

They don't have to worry about traveling to away games either.

I am probably not the best person to ask that question since I only got to see a handful of the practices this fall. However, without naming names I did see several of the players that redshirted look very impressive during the drills and practices.
Overall I think that being redshirted is great for all of the incoming freshman. It is tough on the dads since we are used to seeing our kids play, and that is probably why I am so excited about spring and football in 2013

RE: Spring Football
That extra year toward an undergraduate degree or a free year or so of graduate school is also a big plus for redshirts...

Under XHCNC redshirts had extra workouts before Thursday and Friday practices. Not sure about the new staff though.
