His demeanor is going to cost us some calls that may determine some close games. I wish he would really look at how many 50/50 calls we get at home or away and add up the ppg deficit as a result. If he would work the refs it would be worth several points a game and might help with some of the cheap fouls we seem to invariably pick up and our bigs mpg. We are going to get some horrible officiating once conference play begins..

Man please, division one officials don't let that sway them. If anything, I would say a few may be more apt to stick it once in a while to a coach that's a jerk.

It works on college and even nba refs. If a team is constantly setting illegal picks that are not being called a coach or players bringing it to the officials attention can bring a call. Its the same thing and happens all the time. Have to bring things to their attention sometimes

JP needs to lose the skirt where it comes to working the refs. Those guys today sucked on every level.

Do we know he's not working them? You've appealed for cursing (not judging that), but intelligent banter w/o it can be pretty effective. Is that absent as well?

Why do you think he doesn't work the refs? He talks to them as much as any coach does. Do you imagine he is talking about the weather?

It sometimes makes a difference and sometimes not. I do not see any differences in the kinds of calls we get and don't get than I have seen with any other Tiger coach or almost any other coach, period.

Now I do think K gets more calls his way, but he is a very powerful man - it isn't all or mostly about what he says or how he says it on the court.

I was about to post the same thing. Josh talks to the refs all of the time and many times he’s out of the coaching box during play.

Josh may be young but he didn’t just get off the watermelon truck either. He knows how to work the refs.

As further evidence that this team has matured, that blatant elbow, right in front of our bench, would have led to at least two of our players being ejected in the past.

Yep. He did appear to hurt it late in the game and was favoring it enough that the ref called a t.o. For him to have it looked at. it was on his left hand

I believe he jammed his finger getting a hand on a pass.

Corneal abrasion for Adonis Thomas, Pastner says just now. Basically a scratch on the eyeball. Says Thomas will be ready to practice Monday.

I've had that before. Caught a pebble in the eye while I was weedeating a ladies backyard. Went to the eye dr., got it checked out, and eyes dilated. It hurt...played softball that night though.

Point being is that something like that heals itself. Lucky it wasn't a scratch on the retina.

It's hard to tell but with X everyone could clearly see it.....not sure but based on how the refs are calling our HOME games it appears not.

Maybe the other players don't like Adonis. If that had been Joe, Trey Draper would have punched someone.

I saw it live, I've seen the replay's.

He was taking a blind swipe at the chance the inbound's pass was coming to AT. Just face guarding that clipped AT. No big deal.

I don't know if I agree with your assessment in that is what happened but I do think people have been overboard with the anger toward the Peay guy. I didn't think it was intentional and I'm not even sure he was trying to hit AT.

+1.

I never ceases to amaze me that some of our fans act as if Pastner has never been around the game of basketball prior to becoming our head coach. 04-cheers

Yeah...like I said. Happened to me once. Some steroid eye drops and he'll be fine in a couple days.

Really shouldn't even mess with his vision all that much. Maybe a little blur for a day or two.
