RE: OK, Marshall fans, its' time we talked
Marshall has seemed to be somewhat more competitive since the realignment and some people may pass that off as weaker competition in conference. I really don't see this as the case. This conference in football and other sports seems very competitive. The reason I believe Marshall is more competitive is because of the situation MU was in when joining C-USA. Football recruiting was not up to par in the years just before joining C-USA. Marshall didn't focus as much on sports not called football and basketball. Our facilities were way behind. And last but not least... Marshall University was plagued with a horrible combination of President and AD... In comes President Kopp and Mike Hamrick. Since then, MU has hired an amazing coach in Doc Holiday, built sports facilities never before seen in the city of Huntington, and made Marshall University a better place for students and athletes alike. Who knows what the future holds for MU and our conference brethren, but I think it is positive and bright.
