RE: Johnson City Press Poll
Costing a million vs. losing a million are two different things. Numbers can be massaged to look however someone wants. I learned that in Stats, at ETSU.

It makes it a one sided, biased position. They have never pointed out that all FCS football programs "lose money". Only at ETSU. And Joe Public buys this and thinks its terrible --- that ETSU is some kind of a rogue operation. And, the Press does not seem to comprehend or chooses not to comprehend that ETSU and its peers have to subsidize their athletic programs in order to play at the NCAA Division I level. Subsidized ETSU football was "losing" $1 million a year, the rest of the athletic program is "losing" $9.5 mil a year now without football. Did dropping football reduce the "loses"? If football was, indeed, the big bad financial problem of ETSU athletics, then why has the athletic department increased its "loses" (subsidies) every year since football was dropped? Has the JC Press ever reported any of these things? NO.

But, is it losing or investing? The Athletic Task Force describes it as investing. And, they're saying that ETSU needs to get the best return possible on its investment. That's most likely a major reason they're recommending a return of football so that the school can invest where it will give the best return --- FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL.

JC Press, do you get it?

There is something fishy going on with this poll. The "Yes It's about Time" option was getting destroyed as of yesterday, now it's 43% bring it back and 46% no. Looks like someone on our side figured out how to screw with the poll like the other side did.

And just in the last 3 minutes, at least 100 no votes have been added. Right....

every time I refresh, 3 or 4 no votes get added. Well it's good to know this poll is a bunch of bs.

Just like most of the reporting on ETSU football these past nine years, a bunch of BS; these folks at the JC Press hate the thought of ETSU football, as if Paul Stanton is editing all football articles and references.

It absolutely should be the other way around. The local paper should be fighting hard to get the program back at ETSU. It is in their and everyone's best interest. There must be several Stanton cronies embedded at the newspaper. I cannot think of any other reason why they would be so biased.

RE: Johnson City Press Poll
Twice this morning my comment which referenced the fact that student athletic fees have doubled since football in order to fund a soccer program (which wasnt voted on) and all these minor sports facilities (I was sure to mention the $720,000 scoreboard) was deleted. Now the poll and thread are closed.. Apparently Mullins doesnt appreciate his mismanagement of this athletic department being shared with the ignorant majority.. He wants them to stay ignorant and for the JCPress to keep feeding them the 'losing $1 million' line and add to their ignorance of all other actions of this administration... Lets just keep dumping money into tennis and keep raising that student fee.. as long as nobody mentions football, no one will ever notice!

They will keep deleting it and eventually your account. The JC Press is the absolute worst at censorship of viewers comments that I have ever witnessed.

Then call and raise hell on the managing editor. If you're not posting anything deemed offensive, they have no reason to delete the comment.
Post on their Facebook page, write a letter to the editor, whatever it takes. Call them out. No excuses.
