Typical . . . only UTEP in Conference USA was west of IH 35 . . . and no one who has ever set foot on campus will ever confuse SMU as a "western school" . . . but nice try . . . 03-lmfao

I think you are a midwestern school.....you are the one saying it's in the east. But please carry on.

I like how he equates "western" as somehow meaning not as academically respected.

I think most people probably would Houston on the border between the southeast and southwest. No one, including me has ever said it was "in the east" . . . for long-term strategic planning, we want to be affiliated with other institutions in the eastern half of the United States rather than insitutions west of Texas . . . why is this so hard to understand . . . 03-banghead

That is your insecurity and the reason why you fling poo frequently . . . I have stated several times that UH wants to be affiliated with the population/business centers in the east. . . I've never mentioned academics although that is a factor . . .

Houston was never in the WAC--SWC to C-USA for them. And SMU left the WAC as soon as they could, like he said--to C-USA in the 2005 shuffle.

I was under the impression that Houston was not an academic powerhouse but I don't know for sure. Seems like its something TCU fans brought up a lot.

My bad, he's the one who said "we."

I got my Texas teams mixed up, we never even got a chance to play them in the WAC 16 as it was.

We are not an "academic power." We are, however, a Tier 1 Research Institution.

It's like when your mamma sent you out back to find a switch......that eastern enough for ya 03-wink

No, that's southern.

Same diff, I mean Tulane is in the East.

Yeah, maybe instead of just one of the dregs of CUSA, Tulane, the BE would have added Marshall and Rice too.

Or some MAC teams for variety LOL

The funny thing about you BSU fans is that you poo poo all over the league yet this is the best league you could ever get into and even then you're still just a partial member. Some of you guys forget that not that long ago you guys were a truck driving school.
