If that turns out to be true, it makes me wonder if CU got tired of waiting.

At this point I wonder if Butch is the biggest name TN can get?

That or Butch got po'd about the Denver Post leak before he got to talk to the players.

If true, and he decides to hold court with Wisconsin, I say terminate. UC has a game to still play, and those players deserve better than being strung along this CF.

That's who I'd be worried about. Tennessee is desperate now and the AD and administration botched the entire process up to this point.

If he drags us through all of this and then doesn't even have the decency to stay for next season he can seriously go to hell.

RE: Denver Post reporting Butch Jones accepts offer to be Colorado's football coach
Maybe it is was better for him to make CU wait and never give them a firm "no thanks" as he pursues the Wisc or TN job? I understand how hard it is to make decision like this, but one has to begin to connect the dots and realize that BJ may just want out, and most cannot blame him, if we don't get into a better conference and upgrade the things that need it. If he doesn't come out and say, "I'm staying and no thank you to CU" then he sort of leaves that door open, if only for a few more days while he talks to Wisc and/or TN?

If BJ doesn't come out and say he is leaving or staying, Santa and Whit need to move on and get a short list together and start doing their own interviewing. It is a matter of time and it feels like we are all holding a grenade, just not knowing when it is going to explode.

Don't think he'd be flying a prop plane to Denver if he's going to Boulder. I'd think they'd send a nice jet and it would go straight to Boulder right?

That is an Avanti Turbojet. Cruises at 450 mph at 30-39,000 feet.

Yeah, I first saw prop and figured no way. Then I looked at the detail for that plane and it is impressive. I've seen those fly over Luken before while at the park and the backward propellars really through me. It looks pretty fast, like something a Bond villain would fly before pushing Bond out of the plane at 20K feet.

Again.

It really shouldn't be that hard to find a quality football coach when you're Tennesseee.

Shouldn't have been 5-6 years ago, but as each botched hire has happened and failed, the program has sunk a little bit more and more. Other SEC powers have emerged and risen and it is probably not the big job it was several years ago. It is an example of what can happen when you get several hiring decisions wrong. Your brand tarnishes over time. It is still a good job but to Marcus' point, the powers that be there can't seem to get out of the way of themselves in terms of mucking things up.

I’m guessing they have had a van parked out there for a couple days. This is the biggest story in town right now. I heard Gary Jeff Walker even joke this morning that 700WLW was the Home of Butch Jones.

So true, the Vols job was probably right up there with Florida, Bama, and LSU in the top tier of the SEC. Now Georgia, A&M, Auburn, Arkansas, and South Carolina make up the middle of the pack with Tennessee. That job is still better than Kentucky, Vandy, Mizzou, Ole Miss, and Miss State.

Tennessee is a great job because they have a large fan base, great tradition, etc. Are there better positions in the SEC and other major conferences right now? Absolutely, but not a lot of them.

Alleluia if true. If we have to lose him it can't be to THAT program. Would feel too much like getting dumped for the booger eating nerd in the corner.
