Just think how many tickets would have been sold if the Indy Bowl gave La Tech the time it asked for to finish discussions with the Liberty Bowl.

Now they are stuck with a "local" team that will sell less than half its allotment and a MAC team that will be lucky to bring 1000 fans.

22,000 returned tickets in a stadium that seats 50,000? Not looking good for the crowd shots.

Might even look like a Tulane home game.

Does not work that way. When you think you are "Bigger than the Bowl"...the Bowl comes back and burns that ass. Look we all know that the IBowl sells reserves seats from the 30 to the 30 for the bigwigs and local celebs... It was the same with y'all, its the same with ULM.. The crowd shots will be fine. ULM will roll all over Ohio, getting some nice pub along the way.. Im sure more than a few times it will be mentioned on national TV about how cool a Tech/ULM matchup would it have been if not for Techs arrogance... You want I should record it for you?

Actually I think you will hear the story that the we were waiting on the Liberty Bowl and the Indy Bowl jumped the gun, but who knows.

The biggest problem they are going to have is the lose of face in the Shreveport community. Our family and our corporation have already cancelled our sponsorships to the Indy Bowl and we will not be renewing our corporate tickets. I have spoken to several other "leaders" in the marketplace. They are ceasing thier sponsorships and tickets also.

This has become a PR nightmare for Missy Setters and her ilk. Especially with the low ticket numbers coming from Miami. They have no one coming.

Actually, Tech has had the PR nightmare. You've already pi$$ed off 5 different bowls, who'll now think twice about inviting the bulldogs. The city of Shreveport is disappointed in Tech's reaction and lies about how the whole invitation was handled (Tech's story has changed at least five times and the Indy Bowl's story has never changed). Tech made no friends in how they handled the situation. THEY screwed the pooch on this one and are trying to save face. If corporations with Tech ties want to discontinue support of the I-Bowl then please don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

Here's where I agree with you.

And I'll say this. It helps both us attract that bowl in future years. 04-cheers

Why should Tech have to wait on the Liberty Bowl if they were being invited "no matter what"?
