its too late. they hired jurich. we hired rc. one was interested in getting better, one was interested in milking the cow with as little effort as possible.

the window has opened and closed and we werent even close.

rc's years of gladhandling just enough to get by and keep his cushy job have come back to haunt us.

I have a feeling we've got an AD that's going to take a stab at it. Wish someone would convince me he and the president are on the same page.

When are you going to give it a f'n rest. We could have done EVERYTHING Louisville did back then and NOT have gotten in the BE at that time. We were NEVER an option and it doesn't matter what we would have done. At that time they were NOT going to take anyone not in the eastern time zone.

Exactly, we can't do anything about the past but learn from it. I still don't think it would have mattered who we had at AD. The Big East didn't want us then. Louisville is bolting, we can try and play catch up or play the hand that has been dealt to us. There is no crying in NCAA sports.

Do you REALLY believe that if in 2003 Memphis had wonderful facilites and had a top 10 ranked football teamt that the Big East wouldn't have taken Memphis at that time? If so, you might be the most naive person I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Do you still believe in Santa Claus too?

The really sad part is that 2003 should have been a HUGE wakeup call. However, even after that happened there was no real sense of urgency on Normal. It still look Cal leaving five years later to get any sort of ball rolling on really improving facilities and actualy trying to get better in football.

Too little too late.

RE: Message to U of M admin.
After some sheeple fell for the geography excuse back in 2003 there was a lot of rhetoric from RC about being prepared for the next round of expansion.

Empty promises.

RE: Message to U of M admin.
Things however do change in the world of conference realignment, as we are seeing right in front of us. Nebraska, Rutgers and Maryland to the B10 - who envisioned that 10 years ago... W Virginia to the B12? Lots of things can still happen. If we can get our act together and go on a - not even Boise, but TCU type football success and maintain our basketball success having 45K+ and 16K+ fans in the stands - is it possible that B12 - when they need to expand - may look at us? It will take a few years but I am not sure we can say that it is too late. IF - knowing that it is a big IF - Memphis does end up in the B12 due to our current/future "dedication, commitment, success and lots of luck" then would we all of a sudden not be in a better spot then Louisville itself. Assuming nothing else changes now.
I know, lots of IF's and assumptions but in this world of realignment - who knows what can happen.
