BOTB II
I expect lip to be a good bit better tonight than the first game. Hopefully Ian will keep his hot hand and Mann can relocate the basket. I'm sure lip will try to deny Ian the ball so someone else is going to have to score. lip having Malcolm Smith back will be a big help as well.

Ian couldn't be denied. He was a beast again. Mann started cold but got a little better as the night went on.

I was surprised they didn't do a better job on Ian. Not unhappy, just surprised. He's difficult to handle for sure, but they still didn't respect his range. I don't know if lip played better against murray st and tech but that team last night didn't look like they should be able to be competitive with them. lip really griped about the refs but it was bad both ways. I try not to spend to much time anymore worrying about the refs as I've just come to expect questionable calls. Some nights, there's just more than others.

What was up with the crowd? Rain, finals, early start time, early season schedule, expected blowout? but to only have 3200 is smallest percentage of a gym at either place that I've ever seen and that goes back to the mid 80's. Satisfying win none the less.

RE: BOTB II
The attendance could be lower because this is not a conference game anymore. These games in the past used to mean a bit more than they do now, even though Lipscomb has been down the past few years. I don't think Sanderson is going to last much longer there, honestly.

I noticed a couple of times that they tried a zone defense and Ian would fake a pass and when the players shifted he did a quick release between defenders. They went man to man when he busted their zone and I don't think they could find anyone that could keep up with him.

I too was disappointed with the crowd. Another issue with excitement is the media. I hear very little on sports talk radio the week leading up to the game. At one time, there was a lot of talk. Of course, the football season is still going and many in this area don't get excited about basketball until football is over.
