Swoosh use that link and start charting. It would be neat to get a varied sample.

If you average it out, it's one degree lower than the historical average for December. I know 4 days over 4 years is hardly sceientific proof of anythng, but it is an observation.

Proof of global cooling! May God have mercy on our souls.

What is sad to me. I'm just trying to raise awareness. I have no idea of what the future holds. I think we have become very accustomed to temperatures above normal. I see Torch had to go to India to show snow. If you want to keep track of that area of India for a year that's fine. It would be interesting to see what happens to that area over a year. If you want to pick an area on each continent. that would be neat. The only thing I am going to do is raise awareness for my local area. I have no idea what the future holds. I would hypothesize that we will see more 4's than 2's and more 5's than 1's. It will be interesting.

Give me a break, Mach...

What you are doing isn't scientific at all. If you want to do it scientifically, then collect the data from local TV stations or the NWS who use one, pretty darn accurate thermometer at each area in a single, fixed location in that area... as opposed to your car's dashboard reading.

Not to mention the fact that unless you have people from literally all over the globe, including many sparsely inhabited places like Glaciers and deserts, then you aren't measuring "global" warming at all. You are perhaps more accurately measuring the impact of changes in the southern gulf stream or the northern jet stream

Nobody is afraid of it... it's just a waste of time. It doesn't measure what you say you want to measure, and it doesn't use scientifically valid methods of collecting the data. This is a "weather" experiment designed by a 3rd grader. In 3rd grade, I biult boxes to collect debris and took pictures of various remote areas around town at various times to measure "pollution"... what I realized years later is that I was merely measuring "trash", not pollution.

First Hambone,

I'm just trying to raise awareness at a local level. As I stated earlier, I feel we have become very accustomed to warmer temperatures vs. the historical average. It would be neat if others went along.

This only works on a captive audience. And it's a tragedy that this junk passes for education.

Why is everybody so scared of this? This is nothing to attack. I'm just making some observations.

I think everyone is aware that temps are up and it has been a mild winter in much of the U.S. I think people disgaree on the causes.

Why are you making the observations? What conclusion do you hope to draw?

RE: Local Weather Obervation 12-7-12
Honestly,

I'm wondering how many days we spend 15-20 degrees above historical average. In December so far we have had 4. I'm wondering how many will get a month. I also wonder how many below average days we will get to balance that out. I have no idea but I'm interested in finding out.
