Bill Koch "Respected" LOLOLOLOL
Cincinnati coach Butch Jones reportedly “torn between” Colorado or staying
By Tom Kensler
The Denver Post
Respected Cincinnati Enquirer reporter Bill Koch wrote in today’s edition that University of Cincinnati football coach Butch Jones is “torn between” accepting an offer from Colorado — believed to be five years and at least $13.5 million — or remaining in Cincinnati.

A Michigan native, Jones loves the city of Cincinnati, Koch told me. And Cincinnati officials are said to be willing to sweeten his contract in order to convince him to stay.

Negatives with his current job include Nippert Stadium, which is in need of a major upgrade without a known revenue source to pay the bill. And the fact that the Big East Conference is losing Cincinnati’s natural rivals (Louisville and Pittsbugh) to the ACC, and the diluted league will lose leverage when college football goes to a four-team playoff in 2014.

Cincinnati had previously scheduled a news conference for today (11 a.m. mountain) to discuss its Belk Bowl matchup with Duke. If Jones attends that news conference it may be a good sign for the Bearcats.

After meeting with Colorado officials for about nine hours in Boulder on Monday, Jones reportedly returned to his Cincinnati home after midnight.

Jones had been originally scheduled to depart from Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield t via charter at about 5:30 p.m. but agreed to delay his departure for several hours to engage in further talks with Colorado.

Colorado officials must hope that Jones picks CU this morning and before that bowl-related news conference. If he doesn’t, it will be nervous time in Boulder.

Bill Koch and "respected" is like pairing France with "military power" or Buffalo Bills with "Super Bowl Champs." 01-wingedeagle

If he is respected so much, then part of the Butch Jones deal has to be that Koch goes with him.

That would guarantee we would keep Jones forever.

RE: Bill Koch "Respected" LOLOLOLOL
My email, Bill Koch isn't respected by UC fans in no manner whatsoever

His reply

No offense, and I don’t know you. But been my experience that a comment like this – and those of idiot OSU fans that loathe Kirk Herbstreit – are confusing being objective with being anti.

As you may know, Bill is UC grad. But that doesn’t mean as a reporter he should be a homer.

And re Herbstreit – I’m an Ohio State grad who is embarrassed by the bashing Kirk takes from some of my fellow alums.

Tom

And my reply,

Tom, OSU fans I guess ran Herbie out of CBus? UC fans are not like that.
All I said is that Bill is not respected by UC fans. Local media is generally negative related to all
things UC, although there is so much positive to report on. UC won another share of the Big East title
on Saturday, no mention of this to date in the Enquirer and Bill is the UC beat writer. HS football got front
page Sunday. Now that another UC coach might leave.............it is front page and every local media
outlet is all over it. There have been issue related to ethical reporting or the lack thereof also.
Bill ran a story, from an anonymous source who never identified who they were, about the Athletic Dept covering
up sexual and drinking shenanigans with players and recruits. This was a front page story a few years ago.
Nothing came of it, no evidence, no witness, no crime, totally sensational. IMHO unethical.

UC's TE Travis Kelce is a probable NFL 1st round pick, last UC play in Round 1...............
Greg Cook 1970. Local media is clueless.
