I was visiting WKUsports.com looking at tickets for the Little Caesars Bowl and stumbled across the Sun Belt page on our site and saw this data which I found quite interesting. I think WKU and MT have both placed 1st or 2nd nearly every year since 2000 in the Bubas Cup standings with MT finishing 1st 8 times and WKU finishing 1st 4 times but I never realized how many outright championships each team had won until now. I realize not all schools play every sport and not all schools have been in the conference those twelve years.

Since 2000 here are the number of conference championships for all sports each team has won.

I didn't expect that. I guess us WKU basketball and football fans need to pay attention to our other sports also

Most definitely. We don't just compete, we win championships.

To be fair to MT, if you don't count the 2 sports they don't play (Mens and Womens Swimming/Diving), WKU only has 70 conference championships. Then again, since WKU didn't play football when MT won their 2 championships, they've only won 46 championships in the same sports.
