Wasn't the reason MTSU got left out.

Godaddy was pved at NO bowl premature bid ..wouldn't release it's sbc tie in for Asu to go to liberty ..which would have opened go daddy's tie in with sbc(MTSU). And sent Asu to liberty.,Since go daddy wouldn't release no matter what ..MTSU had no option bc liberty reps saw the 45-0 game Saturday!

Look, bottomline is that the NO Bowl wanted to secure a team that could sell 20,000 tickets because they thought there would not be enough teams that become bowl eligible. The champion was secured a the Go Daddy Bowl before the Cajuns received the official invitation. That is why the Go Daddy Bowl refused to release ASU to the Liberty. Now if the Liberty Bowl wanted ASU so bad, they should have made it work.

If asu wasn't locked for bowl we would have been snubbed 31k booooing benson would have hurt LOL ..MTSU put a good word in for us!

That's the problem. Go daddy didn't see anyone else they could grab that would bring our 15k+..told liberty to go screw themselves however..No bowl had options

we took 15k to mobile last year. and we have had a jump in attendance this year. its pretty safe to say had nola not pissed off GD bowl all 5 of our teams would be bowling right now. worst case WKU stayed home. stATe would get liberty, MTSU GD, ULL to nola, and ULM to Indy.

Pure speculation based upon butt hurt! The Go Daddy Bowl was awarded the Champion, why in the heck would they release ASU? Its about selling tickets, bottomline.

If Benson thinks this is going to keep the teams that are in the Belt happy and convince them to stay put, this debacle is going to have the exact opposite effect.

Dude...try to be a little understanding. MT deserved a Bowl.....as did WKU. It wasn't in the cards for them this year but they had a great season and did beat us this year.

Congrats on a very good season MT. I hope all that your fans have said about the first Bowl experience is true. I'm stoked about going to Detroit for WKU's first Bowl and I'm sure it'll be a memorable experience. My 10 year old son is bouncing off the walls about it. I'm hoping this will be a WKU win so he'll have that memory of being with his father as WKU played and won it's first FBS Bowl game.

I don't have hard feelings against WKU as much as I do our conference front office.

Luckily they won't be your conference front office much more.

Bowl season reminds us all why the Sun Belt absolutely must become a stronger player with bowl tie ins. Only two guarantees aren't enough for this conference anymore, and leads to problems where at least one team is sitting out. Obviously for some of the previous Belt teams this won't be an issue, unless C-USA loses their tie-ins.
