This is where I think CUSA is headed............
CUSA WEST--North Texas, UTEP, Tulsa, UTSA, Texas State, NMSU, Rice, Arkansas St, LaTech
CUSA EAST--FAU, FIU, Marshall, Southern Miss, Old Dominion, Charlotte, UAB, WKU, MTSU
Your sniffing is getting close. There will be some more losses but for conversation in addition to above add ULM and ULL to the West along with South Al and Troy in the East. Thats eleven on each side, playoff game, and travel expenses reduced considerably.

I rest my case.
That's what the majority wants now.
The "losses" will be which of USM, Rice, TUlsa, and UTEP can find a way out (I would include UAB, but who knows with their BOT). These schools are now in the minority. But some of them voted to start this cavalcade, so maybe it's okay.

For Marshall's purposes, probably so. MTSU will be competitive member, win 5-7 games every year, just like Marshall. Make the NIT once in a while, just like Marshall. But in the meantime, C-USA is marginalizing other universities which, while struggling now, have superior resources, have shown the ability to put ranked teams on the field, have shown the ability to play upper level basketball. Keep doing it and you'll end up with the sunbelt's TV contract and a lot of regional football. And that may be what the now majority of C-USA wants, at this point.
Yup.

ULM & ULL won't get an invite as long as Tech's in CUSA

RE: If Tulsa and UTEP leave for the MWC......
Since we're looking at a lot of the top Sunbelt Conference programs, lets look at each school's average attendance for 2012:
1. Arkansas State...26,398
2. Louisiana...22,865
3. TROY...20,952
4. ULM...19,359
5. North Texas...18,927
6. MTSU...17,738
7. WKU...17,414
8. USA...16,793
9. FIU...13,634
10. FAU...13,459
Does this mean that stAte also needs to lower it's game attendance in order to give us a shot at getting in C-USA?

RE: If Tulsa and UTEP leave for the MWC......
Delaware to the East, Arkansas State to the West, USM to the West
Or Delaware & Western Kentucky to the East, USM & MTSU to the West.
Honestly, the only way I think you keep USM in the East is NM/Tx State/Arky State combination of some sort. But I'd rather either Delaware/WKU/Arky State in some combination of 2 of the 3.
I can't think of anyway to keep Marshall happy with losing a regular matchup with USM and/or MTSU other than picking up Tx State.

Are you around Dallas? Houston, New Orleans? Tampa? Orlando? No? Well there's your answer. I don't think Tulane averaged 5,000 actual bodies in the dome. And ECU 50'000+ and look what it took for them to move up. I don't like what's going on just like everybody else...

Little Rock covers us as a local team since there are only two FBS programs in the state, and Memphis is only 45 minutes away. Is that worth anything?

TV money. Staying in cusa could cut into ticket sales. UTEP and Tulsa need to look at the whole picture and not just TV money.

At this point it is simply just that a rumor. I don't see either Tulsa or UTEP going anywhere soon.

Marshal's purpose? How does it have anything to do with Marshall? In my opinion, it has to do with Tulane and the bad support they have for football and basketball in CUSA.
I personally will not miss seeing these type of photos from Tulane home games. IMO, its a bad reflection on the conference as a whole. For the longest time I have had these feelings but would never say anything on this board in reference to Tulane because of our conference affiliation and the respect I have for the Tulane posters on this board.
That being said, I congratulate Tulane on getting the Big East bid and maybe that will turn their program around. Hopefully getting an on campus stadium will help as well.

You're a marshall fan, aren't you. You see sunbelt schools as a trade up. And, again, for Marshall's purposes, it probably is. Other aspects of a conference and programs aren't important to you. Fair enough.
