When will people.....
Give SBC football the respect that it deserves?

I tried to watch as many games as possible today. UCF/Tulsa, Louisville/Rutgers (Thursday), UC/UConn, Pitt/USF, MT/ASU, Bammer/UGa, Ga Tech/FSU. Ark State played the third best game behind the two teams in the SEC Championship IMO.

The other games & teams were garbage. I could barely watch.

I realize that I had a connection with the ASU/MT game & obviously interest. But, I had interest in the others too.

What I'm trying to say, is that we've got a dang good product on display each & every Saturday. When will the rest of the country figure that out???

All of the bowling Sun Belt teams need to represent well in their games.

It's just too easy to discount any non-AQ league game based on a perception of lesser competition. Make no mistake about it, MT has a pretty good team this year, you can't fake your way to 8-4, and ASU beat the holly hell out of us. They played lights out, but no one will notice or care, not yet anyway. Just keep taking steps forward, let's do well as a conference in bowl season and keep working towards getting that first ranked team, in the years that follow you will see more.

It helps when the games are actually on TV....

The Sun Belt deserves a much better TV contract and I hope they get it during the next round of negotiations.

True. The truth is that most college football fans are casual fans and being able to watch their team on tv every week is what can push them from being a casual fan to being a hardcore fan. Most "fans" of SEC schools have never even been to a SEC college game, but yet they'll wear their Walmart purchased Bama and Walmart purchased Hog t-shirts every other day. They'll even purchase "{insert SEC school here} Alumni" license plates and put them on the front of their cars even if they've never stepped on the campus of the university they are representing.

Point is ppl are stupid, that's never going to change. We are in a downward spiral too, just watch idiocracy and you will see the truth. One day soon we will be watching "Ow my balls" on our toilet recliners.

There is no identity with the common fans and the name players of SBC teams. This league has three quality QBs in Browning, Apling and Robinson but aside from us no one nationally is talking about these guys. I said a long time ago that this league needs to promote its top players. No one wanted to watch Texas A&M until Johnny Football became a national name. Kent State v. NIU was a top 25 matchup for the MAC, but no one was interested because no one knew who the stars were on the field. Although we want to keep football a team sport at our level, the reality is that eyeballs will watch the games for the purposes of observing individual performances. Start to promote individual players and you will see more interest in the league, and the league's perception will improve. We have some former players in the NFL doing things, there is no way our quality as a league should be questioned consider we produced those guys.

I agree, I would personally put Broadway in the level with Robinson, but I wouldn't put even Robinson (as good as he is) in the conversation with Browning and Aplin. Both are incredible and can carry a team on a bad day. As for the MAC game thing, if you didn't research anything going into that game then you missed out on the Non-BCS Johnny football, Jordan Lynch has 3000 yards passing and 1700 yards rushing and has accounted for 43 TDs this season, that guy is AMAZING!
