Just seems like yesterday we were all talking about opening weekend etc.

Boom it's gone. Quicker than a hiccup.

Down year for CUSA and the realignment garbage has really killed a lot of the season imo

Wait...there was a football season? Where the f**k was I?!

It was a season of ups and downs in Murfreesboro.

Starting with a major down, embarrassing home loss to McNeese State.

Ending with a major down, blown out by Arkansas State.

However, there were lots of ups in between. We won 8 games this year, a 6 win improvement over 2011(not sure if we made the biggest win increase from 2011 to 2012 or not, think we're tied with Kent at this point) we dominated Georgia Tech in Atlanta, we got the Troy monkey off our back(had dropped 6 straight) and all told, it was one of the better seasons we've had at the FBS level(fourth winning season out of fourteen, but three out of the four have come since 2006) and of course there was the recent announcement that we'd be joining C-USA. Hopefully we get more good news Sunday night and get our fourth bowl appearance and can come out and rebound from the embarrassment today.

All and all, following the 2-10 debacle last season, I think even the most optimistic among us thought 7 wins was our ceiling, so I think we're pretty happy with 8(possibly 9) and we bring back a lot of this team next season. Hopefully we spend 2013 building more positive momentum for our entrance into C-USA in 2014.

Usually, the end of football season does not disappointment me but it does this year.

I'm talking about the regular season which is over. Bowl Season isn't the same animal as its all spread out and only a few games compared to the weekly gauntlet of games to enjoy.

It almost always amazes me how quickly the football season goes.... on for 13-14 weeks and then it's over..... by far the shortest season of any sport....
