#1. Not acting like an ass will take you further in life.
#2. Life is about choices. There are other large metro teams with plenty of choices where the people choose to attend college football.

Your fanbase could learn #1 when you slam a school constantly just because they got a CUSA invite and you got left behind in the call ups conference.

This is how the realignment works. It is nothing new. If it were about fans and competitiveness, Florida State and Clemson would be in the SEC instead of Missouri and Texas A&M.

It works this way from the top on down. Not saying it is right and I think our fans suck right now . But FAU has had football since 2001. Arkansas State has had football since 1911. It is a lot easier to build a fanbase with a 90 year head start and you play in a state with a lot less things to do.

I am responsible only for my comments and opinions. You are responsible only for your comments and opinions.

Please spare us the "defend my poor little program" crap. If someone takes the low road that doesn't absolve you if you choose to join them there as you did.

What low road did I take? Saying Arkansas has less to do than South Florida is just common sense. I live in NE Ohio. I wouldn't be offended if someone from NY, LA, Miami etc said there is more to do in those cities. It is just a fact.

These things contribute to poor attendance and bad fans in South Florida/FAU.

1. More things to do in South Florida.
2. A lot of diversity. Many people are not even from this country and can care less about sports like football and basketball.
3. A lot of transplants. Florida is a destination place to move. On my one street alone, there were people from Ohio, PA, Michigan, Alabama, Colorado, South Carolina, and New York/New Jersey. Those people keep their teams in college and the pros.
4. Competition at the college level. Florida State, Florida, Miami, South Florida, Central Florida. Who do you guys have besides Arkansas? FAU/FIU are fighting for the 6th spot in their own state.
5. Competitiveness. You guys were in a quasi title game and have been good the last couple of seasons. FAU has been bad and was on their way to a 3-9 season.
6. Amount of years with football. You have had football 90 years more than us. Common sense would say that this would help to build a fanbase and alumni base for sports like football. FAU just completed their 12 year of football at any level. They weren't even full FBS until 2005. Program is in an its infancy so it takes time.

Programs at our level of FBS are going to get dissed. Fans who have experienced it for 20 years deal with it differently than those who are new to it.

Not every negative thing said deserves a full-on emotional counter-attack. If you get into that habit then you will just be entertainment for trolls.

There is also a difference between analysis of weaknesses versus slamming. You can turn someone from analyzing to slamming by how you respond.

FAU is in that spot of having had their first FBS success and then a letdown and trying to recreate it. Pelini was a good step and it will be fine.

sorry i haven't replied to this yet.

major kudos to the red woofs!

over the last 2 years many have been talked about as best in our various board power rankings. cajuns, ulm, even western.

but by god through 2 coaching changes at the end of the season it was red woof fans sittin' on the thrones smokin' stogies in one hand and a kerr jar of moonshine in the other hand laughin' big laughs.

just goes to show roberts had talent. i don't care what geniuses freeze and malzahn are....you don't hook and ladder your way through 1 loss in 2 seasons.

this is sincere. i tip my cap.

Two rings. That's about right.

Freeze proved what Crump and others said was true, Roberts was recruiting talent and not getting the best out of them.

I know a lot of people dismiss Malzahn's accomplishment because he took over a ten win team but when we took the field against MTSU, only five players who started in Mobile where on the field thanks to a league suspension of the sixth.
