Congrats NIU. That was probably the best $10 I've spent in a long time. The game shouldn't have been as close as the score indicated, NIU was just dominating the game until Kent's 96 yard drive. Congrats on the win and win your bowl game!

Thanks. We were dominating them, but we have an unbelievable way of making these games close. After the fumble td return, someone in the game thread said 'wow, this will go down in Huskie lore'. I was cracking up and having a heart attack at the same time.

The game wasnt close. Niu had turnovers and that is the only way kent could win. Lynch, fumble and interception had nothing to do with kents defense. Niu coaches, got to cute with the pass to the lineman. Niu, will win this again next year! We will be very very good in 2013! DD will be back!

I hated that call. Kent State couldn't stop us and we had to settle for a field goal. But we won!!!!

Yes the pass to Bishop was the dumbest play call all season. 3rd and 3 and that is what we call...with Jordan Lynch, Akeem Daniels, Martel Moore, TLL, the list goes on and on. Pass to Ken Bishop???? Really.

Also, Screw that goddamned squib kick and just kick the flipping ball out of bounds and start on the 35...it really was that fukcing simple.

Rant against coaching over. DD is a fantatistc coach, and I wish him all the best (hopefully in DeKalb)

Yes you will be nutz next year. I'm hoping that you guys can somehow keep Doeren.

How does your OOC schedule look next year?

Where did the weird-azz play calling come from?

And with the kick offs, either kick it through the end zone (difficult without the HS wind) or kick it out of bounds! We gave them too good of field possession.

Neither team had an ounce of quit in them, game had me on the edge of my seat for 4 hours. I wouldn't want to be the team that plays KSU in their bowl. After this game and their first bowl in 40 years, they are going to be jacked up no matter where they go.

Iowa and Purdue. We will be favored in every game we play...I hate that thought, any loss next season is going to be shear disappointment.

I see why Hazell got coach of the year, if I didn't know already. Had that team fighting back the whole game. I don't know what adjustments he made, but we had them stopped pretty good for a while, then they started moving the ball again and scoring. I think Daniels did them in with his speed to the outside.

Some of our players kicked butt last night. Akeem - wow! He REALLY stepped up. Ken Bishop? Played like a true beast. Sims? Yes! Stopping Archer? He was totally ineffective.
Once they all got thru that jittery first quarter and settled down...they played really really well.

Based on what I saw last night, Kent had to have had some luck with them this season to go along with Archer. They have a good coach too. In the end...NIU CLEARLY the better team.
