I've just been watching the OT but the Kent QB doesn't seem to make the best decisions under pressure...

2OT NIU win. That won't be enough to get into top 16. Put either team in CUSA and they would finish 3rd in CUSA East.

Stupid ESPN hyping MAC championship.

Kent made some clutch plays late but all for naught. This was one of the games of the year though.

eCK: You gotta be kidding. NIU would probably put up 50 points plus on most every C-USA team this year.

UCLA loss, Boise loss, Texas loss, and Nebraska losing wouldn't hurt either

ArmoredKnight is an ex-C-USA fan as UCF is headed for your neck of the woods.

Funslinger, exCincyKid is not a Cincy Bearcat fan as implied, but rather a fan of a MAC school (Miami of Ohio).

Wonder if there were more people in Detroit than at Stanford (31k announced attendance)?

RE: OT: MAC football championship
I think the MAC as a Conference has put together a pretty good plan for OOC scheduling. Just take a look at their top teams OOC schedules and you will see what I am talking about. They do not schedule 3 or 4 body bag games. Most of them only had 1 pretty tough game....The rest of their OOC games are reasonable, that is why they hade several teams with pretty good overall records. If UCF and ECU would have had similar OOC schedules ECU would probably be sitting at 10-2 and UCF probably would be 11-1.

I am not trying to put down the MAC and what their teams have done this year but when evaluating some of these Non-AQ teams with really good records it is interesting to look at the OOC schedules played. I know it has been discussed but I think Many CUSA schools over do it with the OOC scheduling. The ideal way is what many of the MAC schools did this year. One pretty tough game that probably should not win, a game against an upper team in one of the upper BCS-AQ conferences. Then a game against a notoriously bad team from an AQ conference. From there you schedule a team from one if the other Non-AQ conferences. Finally you schedule an FBS school. If you turn out to have a pretty good team and one of the best teams in your league you should easily come out of your OOC 3-1 or 2-2 which sets you up for a pretty good season and if it turns out to be a special season where you get some breaks then you have a shot at a BCS bowl game.

Now I wonder how this will work out with the new system in which they factor SOS of schedule...Will you be better off to schedule wins and have a poor SOS or will you be rewarded for having a strong OOC schedule but maybe an extra loss or two?

You are quite correct, Maclid! How are you doing these days? I see the UCF posters are just as cocky as when they were briefly in the MAC! Such a shame they were winless in their last year in the MAC, don' t ya think?

P.S. BTW, I am definitely an ex Cincy boy....born and bred there......must adimt I even took a summer law class at UC to make sure I had enough credits to graduate from Miami in 4 years!

I figured NIU would be the spoiler. The BCS is always bias against the small schools so NIU will move up to 17th as a slap in the face move
