I agree with the original post

CUSA East
ODU
Charlotte
Marshall
UAB
Southern Miss
Western Kentucky
Middle Tennessee State

CUSA West
Florida Atlantic
Florida International
UTSA
North Texas
UTEP
Louisiana Tech
Tulsa

Rice to the nBE

This seems like the best case scenerio at this point. I know the Florida schools seem out of place in the west, but let's face it, they are too far for a bus trip for anyone in the east anyway and it is cheap to fly in and out of S. Florida so it is no extra money or time to put them in the west.

It would be awesome to bring back the home/home bball rivalries of UNCC/ODU/WKU/UAB. Those were fun.

No way the west gets exclusive access to both Florida and Texas recruiting.

Nope, the east will be free to recruit in Florida and Texas. We even already got a pretty good QB out of Texas ourselves!

Excellent post, agree 100%. I'm all for good football as well, but adding Texas State Trade School and UT-Taco bell just because they are located in a big city is what is ruining it. And don't give me the access to recruits nonsense either. The top Texas and Florida recruits are going to Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and South Carolina. By the time you get to UT-Taco Bell, you are left with the 0-2 star recruits, which are no better than the 0-2 star recruits already available in any other state. Hell, we just landed a pretty darn good 3-star QB from Texas ourselves from a regional FCS conference and beat out some Big East schools doing so. We did this with out being in the same conference as Texas State Trade School.

That way we play in Florida every year. You may have some solid Florida recruits, but playing there once a year should lead to many more. WV does not produce many DI recruits, we needs access to Florida. Marshall would not support your divisions.

It would make sense for Ohio State or Michigan to want to play down there because they have a shot at those guys, but the theory doesn't flow down below the big 4 level, else the Sun Belt, ACC, and Big East would be strong.

The Texas schools along with Tulsa probably wants to be in the MWC anyways so let them go. Tighten the geographical perimeter of the conference:

CUSA

ODU
Charlotte
Marshall
UAB
Southern Miss
Western Kentucky
Middle Tennessee State
Florida Atlantic
Florida International
Louisiana Tech

You still have good TV markets, helps travel immensely and save programs money, and it is still a decent basketball conference. This is basically a steriod-laced Sun Belt but it is what it is.

I have no desire to play a team west of the Mississippi. However, I do enjoy playing great teams like Tulsa etc.

I wish all of the eastern teams could merge into a conf as well as the western teams.

Good for you, but not for your argument. If you are already getting your Florida recruits, what exactly are you trying to accomplish by watering down the conference with insisting on playing these schools? Not understanding.

Marshall has 33 players on the roster from Florida, some 4 star players. To be able to go into Miami Central, South Miami, Glades Central, University and Lakeland and tell the youg men that they will be able to help Marshall University win, get a good education and yes you will be able to play infront of family at least once a year is huge. And thats the reason Marshall would not want to be in the divisions you set up.
