It is yet to be seen whether it can truly be considered "left behind" given that CUSA is becoming Sunbelt 2.0 Especially considering the Sunbelt was superior to CUSA on the field this year. So don't go getting all elitist just because you're making what looks at the present to be a lateral move from one conference to another.

I don't know, what'd we average last year? 17 - 18,000? I guess that's "no one" for some schools and didn't we have sell-outs or near sell-outs for Duke and UCF? hmm.

Like I said, it's easy to sit in a trailer behind a computer somewhere in the Mississippi Delta and attack based purely on ignorance. Just don't be surprised if someone fires back.

Reported numbers don't mean squat buddy ... It's not ignorance when you've seen it first hand

I've seen firsthand some very bad attendances at several SBC stadiums other than FAU and FIU, btw. I guess it makes some feel mighty great to stress how incredibly attendend their games are when they get 20-25k per game....Again, maybe we will be lucky to draw as many fans as you after our program has played around or more than 100 years like most of your programs.

I'm not "getting elitist". I'm going to respond to posts that bash MT for jumping when they had the chance, just like any Sun Belt school would have. It's not a lateral move as far as money and perception is concerned, but I do agree about the on field product. We'll see if that trend continues.

I'm not trying to throw stones because your first point is correct, but F_U brings up the rear on all of that.

Also, this whole argument with how long programs have been around from the F_U schools is so weak. You really think ULL or Troy or ASU having teams in the 50s drives attendance now? Come on.

I'm not your buddy flatfoot. Big games draw, average teams during a down season won't. sorry but true.

You're right ... once FIU gets back to being a good team you guys will have 25+ every weekend! And you will have more than 50 people at a baseball game and more than 100 at a basketball game.

Everyone is trying to spin stuff to make their schools look better or some other school look worse.

Fact is that we all have issues. Some fan interest and attendance, some money, some performance, some tv market, some geography, some facilities.

There is a difference between discussion and posturing. Posturing is annoying.

Programs get invited to conferences for various reasons and faults are overlooked because of other positives.

Hey, I've always liked UL-M but I'm not sure what's crawled up your butt when it comes to FIU (nor do I really care); but don't you have more important things to worry about than the logistics behind our attendance figures? Did we take your slot in C-USA?

ULM in C-USA? Now that's funny.

Amen. There are no perfect all around teams left. All of those teams have long since moved on to better places.

RE: My E-mail to Karl Benson
The difference in all of this is fans have to think like fans, conference commissioners have to think like conference commissioners..

You might not miss the yearly FL trips, but the BB and FB coaches from the conference sure as hell do...

It is great for the fan by making the Belt a strong regional small school based conference, but be prepared to consistently lose your best coaches and to be beat by the empty stands on TV in recruiting.

It is what it is. The consistent clamoring to stay small and regional is fine if the long term expectations are that the Sun Belt will always be a feeder conference for both teams and coaches.

Totally agree, for a change.

Having fans who grew up going to games then brought their kids who are now bringing their kids sure as hell makes an impact on attendence
