If the SBC's choices are not App State, Ga. Southern and NMXSU, we need to see about removing all of our school presidents from the decision making process. In addition, I agree with the JMU add as well.

If this list is right, the question is: Did the call go to App and they aren't interested or did the call not go to App? Either way, I'm perplexed.

The one school WKU could not afford to lose was MT and now they have left, WKU has been put on an island geographically. If Idaho and NMST join, you better believe WKU is out the door. I think Benson knows this and that is why he is trying to bring in three more instead of two. He know WKU is gone. Just can't justify have Sunbelt as a home any longer.

Would require an invite for WKU to be gone, which we do not have an invite to any other conference.....sorry but I am not believing all of these skizophrenic rumors on twitter that we are supposedly on deck, we are not on deck, we are if this occurs and this and this happens...Not beleiving hypotheticals....I would wait until an official annoucement from WKU..Imo we are in the Sun Belt another 30 years...

Benson can't force teams to join... he can get a list of who want to join and then your presidents vote who and how many they want..

I Read last year how Benson push for 12 football schools but the presidents did not want go past 10...

Now you guys are at 8 football, and few teams trying get out...

You need couple teams fast and need couple ready to follow...

So you need your presidents to invite 4, but our their 4 willing with everything going on..

The WAC Was the same way were teams wanting to leave so not taken any action till they were down, and then out..

Best of luck guys...

RE: New Mexico State, Idaho and Georgia Southern in SB??
The article only mentioned that NMSU, Idaho and GSU were on the list of replacements, not that anyone else has been removed. The addition of Idaho or NMSU would seem to contradict his radio interview this morning when he said they are looking to not expand the footprint too much. He said they'd have an announcement in a few weeks, so we should know before too long.

I hope that it does not turn out to be those three additions, truly would be worst-case scenario for App. Not only would we remain in the SoCon but we watch our biggest football rival leave the conference and likely be replaced by Mercer, Kennesaw State, Coastal Carolina, etc. I'm not going to the chancellor's house with pitchforks over one person's speculation but that would be brutal for App fans.

Try and remember that these posters complaining also want their team out of the SBC ASAP.

With WKU standing at the door with their bags packed, picking current FBS schools makes since because there is a transition period to move from FCS to FBS. It will buy some time.

The App State administration is as tight lipped as any school I have ever seen.
However, I heard recently, not sure if it is true, that the Sun Belt was willing to admit App State and Georgia Southern earlier this year, but because GaSo said they needed more time to work out finances the SB decided to wait. That makes me think that there is no problem with App State accepting an offer, but not sure if that statement was true.

I don't have the time to map out the specific timelines for all teams involved, but needless to say NMSU and Idaho are instant adds while GSou and AppSt would have to go through the transition process.. Depends a lot on Tulane and ECU and when they leave.. That trickles down to MTSU .... and then so forth..

Does that make sense then? NMSU and Idaho have not been continuous SBC schools.
If true, sounds more like Benson thinks that he is going to lose several additional current schools, and needs some more current FBS schools to pass the NCAA smell test.

benson is an idiot if he would take nmsu and idaho over app state and jmu. all are rural, so f your markets. attendance: app state 28k, jmu 22.8k, nmsu 14.2k, idaho 12.6k
they are also further from the footprint than either jmu or app.

the choice is clear.

You may be on to something there.
There's no other reason to even suggest Idaho.
