The way I see it, if CUSA keeps raiding the SBC and taking their big market teams, then maybe the SBC should be going after the best small market schools so they would less likely be poached. App State is probably one of the best out there in the FCS level and with the extremely small market they would keep them for a while.

I agree. Appy St. makes much more sense for the Sun Belt. But, if C-USA has plans on adding Appy, and some current Sun Belt programs, should the there be a mass exodus of C-USA West programs to the MWC, that could be why Idaho and New Mexico are in play.

This Owl fan is all for it. I hope the Rice admin is talking to MWC and Rice, UTEP, and Tulsa should make it a packaged deal.

Let's say that the MWC does lose three teams to the BE; wouldn't the MWC be smart to go ahead and add those three (UTEP, Rice and Tulsa) AND USM and La Tech? Why not? They would strengthen their football chops, without a doubt. Furthermore, they could add UTSA and UNT for market reasons.

If I were the Sun Belt and had 3 choices, they'd be Appalachian State, James Madison and Delaware.

Yes, good call. A solid 14 team conference with UTEP almost centered geographically. That would be bizarre.

The Sun Belt already down 2 schools, with news flying that they could loose 2 more,

They need to find teams to back feel now..

Takes 2 years for FCS schools.. Plus all these school that fans say want to join, but their President see the landscape ain't stable and might not want to commit.. To a Conf. that will End up like the WAC

Nah, the SBC will never be the WAC. There are plenty of east coast schools that want to be FBS. If the SBC doesn't have enough FBS schools, the NCAA will grant a waiver so FCS schools can transition immediately like UTSA did in the WAC this year.

This really is becoming a travesty.

We have made the jump from the unfortunate dismantling of conferences that used to mean something to creating conferences that don't mean anything from their start.

When I look at the current Big East, CUSA, Sun Belt - there is no reason for any team in any league to consider saying for anything greater than a cost advantage at the moment.

And the financial implications of these spread out conferences is going to bite the smaller leagues in the arse. I'm not even sure if the Big East schools will be able to maintain it if fuel prices increase.

Uhm?? which two? So far, nobody's actually made overtures to NMSt... that's all been "internet comments", and nothing more.
